Yes, no one will escape time, we are all subject to it. It is the faceless hand that hover above us all and will bow to, in the end. Thanks for such a beautiful interpretation of time. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for getting the more universal truth to this poem....it does a poet good when her work is interpreted correctly!

This is so clever. I love it.

They say that even a stopped clock is right twice a day. This one is never right, but then it is never wrong either. It has the potential and that's the main thing. In Macbeth King Duncan says "There is no art to find the mind's construction in the face" so we might as well not try. From the photo alone that accompanies this poem we could not tell it was a clock. We could not read its construction in its face.

Many I asked before I wrote this poem, when I showed them that very photo said "No, it USED to be a clock, now it's junk"---which was the inspiration behind my write. Thanks,

I loved your poem. It has a comforting predictability in the repetition. It is creative. I have never thought about a clock being a clock without the parts that we are used to identifying. I like how you compare it to humans near the end.

As an RN (now retired) I was constantly reminding family and friends of patients who were in a coma that they can almost certainly hear and understand....so many would come to visit and stand around talking to one another...ignoring the "clock without a face"---

Thank you for a look at what makes a clock tick. Or maybe I should say Clock as you have masterfully created a clock that has a voice. The rhyme scheme was perfect and the meter never faulted. This is a wonderful poem about life in Clock's eyes and experiences - not so different from the human animal. Very nice job and certainly deserves six stars in my estimation. I'll look for more of your work. Kudos. Marge

Unfortunately we live in a society that defines one based on external features. With or without the hands, chimes, battery, a clock is still a clock. And a human being should not be defined as one of less value if he loses his youth, sight, mind. We have each an internal clock that will stop in it's in time. Very profound thoughts expressed fluently.

Yes, I agree with the poem, just the numbers or the hands does not make the entire clock and missing parts do not take away from the clock. Very nicely done and I enjoyed it. It reads well, flows well and brings about its point very well.

An array of interesting angles to ponder here as to our 'identity' or the identity of any living being or inanimate object - the clock enhances the notion of change with time

We are not what people perceive from the outside...our worth, like the clocks, may be altered only by our own belief in our inner workings, our inner strength, our belief in our own ability....

    Thanks,
