This naani, And the Meek Shall Inherit the Earth, uses twenty-five syllables in these four lines to warn us again about the coming end of the world as we know it. Is it worth becoming a turtle? Can I become a turtle?

Very clever twist on the turtle race win. Impacting naani - universal in scope and powerful in theme. Highly relevant. thanks for voicing this in such a memorable way. This is a contender for my vote. The closing AHA is effective. Superb phonetics with consonance of S and L sounds. Bravo! Good luck.

Whoa what a powerful statement about global warning and possible extinction of man and human race. Seems animals might be only ones to survive. Well done. Goid luck. You have my thumbs up in contest that placed you in 1st place tie. Well done! Liberty justice

A good commentary. Because we are overpopulating our small planet and there is no place else to go, we continue to gobble up natural resources and space. The lowly turtle surely may win the race. Marilyn

Funny you should use the turtle analogy. I tell my Daughters and their children that all the time. "Slow and steady, wins the race". Very nice visual and statement. Good Luck and Best Wishes in the Contest! Sherman541

Yes, easy does it. We have a couple of pet turtles that our kids had when they young. Still going strong at 30! Thanks for dropping by to read and review.

You are welcome = We had painted turtles for pets, but they were painted by the people who sold them. They did not live long and broke our hearts :) So tough to lose a pet always any kind

I think this is a good entry for the Naani Poetry writing prompt.
You've told a good story here with a good ending. I love it when the turtle wins. Well done.
Good luck to you with the competition.
