Hi Diane, this is a wonderful poem you've written. It's hard to forget the things people say, especially if they wounded us with their words.

A thought provoking naani poem. Perfect artwork to compliment your fine work.
This looks like a challenging poetic form that I have not done.
Blessings

Hello Janet!
So pleased you enjoyed my offering.
The short poetic forms are challenging...for me! I write, re-write, and start all over again attempting to find just the perfect words!
Thank you for your thoughtful and positive review.

This is an excellent naani. We have not seen these here for a long time. So I am pleased to welcome entrants to this contest. This version of the Indian, Hindi form has just the right amount of oriental enigmatic feel to it.

Didn't fare so well in the contest, but I surely loved the challenge of penning this verse...

Contests results are in no way related to quality. there are two many other things that get in the way. Site contests are different.

This naani, Echoing Silence, uses twenty-five syllables in these four lines to remind us that each conversation, argument, debate, or casual comment could be the last one heard or spoken. Then eternity begins.
Forever and forever farewell, Brutus (or, your name here).
If we do meet again, we'll smile indeed.
If not, 'tis true -- this parting was well made.

If I should meet thee
After long years
How should I greet thee?
With silence and tears...George Gordon Byron
Those words...first read by me when I was sixteen years old...still haunting...
Thank you, Bill, for your thoughtful review...

Well captured statement, views defining in their given conveyance, truthful declaration that are profound in consideration. Indeed, its the memory of events we must come to battle, long after occurrences. A sweet thought in my opinion.

In my opinion, an astonishing write, elegantly presented in its sad sweetness and startling image - smooth in capturing pensive and clear regret - fully compliant with the prompt...

Memories have a way of keeping the hurt alive. It's hard to heal through the memories we have but if we work through them all it's worth it in the end, even if the memories are always there.

This is a very nice entry for the contest, which follows the guidelines and is beautifully written. It's true what your words state....it's hard to forget and heal when memories keep getting in the way. Good luck in the contest.

Excellent Poem! The author words are clear, strong and creative. The
reader pondered on the last line of this poem. The artwork is perfect
and compliments both the theme and words of this poem.
