What a wonderful feeling you shared is such a beautiful way. When you have self respect, nothing can stop you or bring you down. The picture expresses the satisfaction and soothing feeling that goes with the poem. Well done. Thank you for sharing. Blessings!

This mirror poem, Self Respect, sure seems stocked with some S-sounding syllables that stipulate a super ego sated by one's own sight in the shiny sheet of reflected self. Nice.

For me, it's often a marvel to see what my Creator gave my parents as a child one minute, the next is asking myself where the time went...

In trust we shall all have our souls saved:

Ergo fight all from hell so in righteousness you stay
And white your soul will be on your dying day.

All we need to do is to win that earthly fight again and again.

Thanks you for uplifting my spirits at the start of this new week.

Brilliant and so succinctly expressed. I would have to concur that when I, too, look in the mirror, and the 64 year old me is reflected, "self-respect" shines through. This is a serene write of acceptance on what you view in the mirror with a carefree attitude to the vision you see, I love the philosophy behind these words, life is more important that the vanity in the mirror, loved this unique approach to the poem, lvoe Dolly x

This is a good entry for the contest. Good luck with it. It is funny how the two definitions of reflection both apply to a mirror or another reflective surface. A reflection of one's physical body and of ones thoughts. Is the sunset a metaphor for death? If so, then this person is satisfied with how he lived his life. Thank you for sharing
