We have bunnies, chickens and ducks as well as that fox who often comes to visit hoping for a meal. lol and that's what happens to him. We catch him and move him away.

You did a great job with this poem from the perspective of a foxes point of view. Good Luck!

I'm not certain how to take this. Is the fox "evil" for wanting to live? I don't think you're saying that.

I lost my much loved two hens to a fox a few weeks ago. It was a terrible thing, I saw one dead, and the other died as the fox fled with me chasing it.

The usual reaction is to hate the fox, describe them as evil, and try to shoot or poison them. While I try to do everything possible to stop the fox from getting to my chickens (clearly I failed this time, with disastrous results), or other baby animals around the place, I can't hate them for just wanting to live, nor can I bring myself to harm them.

Anyway, your poem is very well written. Good rhyme and meter, and the picture is delightful.

Good job,

Craig

This is a good entry for the Become The Animal contest.
Your sad verse tells of the life of a fox.
Well done and good luck to you with this one in the competition.

I enjoyed reading this... it takes us into deeper thought concerning the animals that need to kill in order to eat. What a choice! As with humans, perhaps the kinder ones really do not want to take the life of another in order to survive... this invokes sympathy for the fox from a different viewpoint. Good luck in the contest!

This shows that foxes go to Heaven too. This fox died of hunger to go to a place that will feed him forever.

The abcb quatrains tell the story well but it seems like you are telling the foxes story from your point of view not his. If you could change all the third person references to first person, using I and me, instead of he and his, then it would seem from the animals point of view.

Good luck and keep writing

I can only hope that all fox and other animals too could have this result and be that lucky too. I love how you think for the Fox and his own fate. Lovely picture and such beautiful words. Good Luck and Best Wishes in the Contest! Sherman541

This speaks the fox faces the future, he fails to eat a single hen for the hounds at henhouse; he comes to a forest with beautiful birds, being lucky, he was taken therefrom, he said an Amen; well worded, well done. Thank you for sharing this with us. Good luck with the contest. KEEP WRITING, INSPIRE CHANGING. DR ALCREATOR

A very well-written poem. The fox only purpose in life is to eat and feed his family. He takes whatever is easy prey and makes sure he eats enough to build up his strength at the cost of farmers sometime.

Thank you, Sandra du Plessis for your nice review and rating. Unfortunately the fox?s prey is being driven out by man claiming their habitat. When the Fox has no natural prey he can eat, he, understandably eats what he can
