That really is such a shock. William seems to be such good, young man. What a terrible thing that his brother's experimentation should lead to such a problem for them both. In those days, there were not too many remedies for AIDS. I wonder if you stayed in touch with William.

you." He asked. (you," he asked.)

In answer to your question, yes I did stay in touch with William until he died in 2003. Thank you so much for reviewing and your great comments. I will fix those shortly. Merry Christmas, Happy New Years, Season Greetings! Hugs n smiles!

This must have been like a body bllow to poor William and most disturbing for Mrs Armstrong as well. She reacts well in my opinion showing concern but certainly no panic of the kind a younger, less experienced teacher might exhibit. As a primary school teacher this sort of thing was outside my experience but I know how difficult it can be to remain detached from, but still concerned for the students in one's care whatever their ages.

Oh, my. Poor stupid kid. He should have known better, but minds shut down when desire turns on. He was already an addict, just to diff drugs, moving up from least harmful to deadly.

I don't understand how his older brother could have contracted AIDS from him. You have to be very close physically for body fluids to mix. It's unlikely he had sex with brother, but maybe he had an open cut and... somehow... it got contaminated with saliva?

Thanks for reviewing Phyllis,. I agree that Randy was a stupid kid. I do think or rather I hope that I had mentioned that William was receiving a platelet transfusion every few months from family and the last on was from Randy. Life unfortunately goes on.

Hard to believe doctors would put blood into someone that hadn't been tested for AIDS. Very irresponsible.

MMMM they don't now and haven't for several years, but this story was based even before the HIV /AIDS scare. I will have to think about addressing that somehow.

That poor kid! You did a great job comforting him and listening to him. You gave him reassurance too. I'm sure he felt better after talking to you about it.
