There is nothing to correct here, the story progressed well and the thread is clear. The post ended with interesting clue or hint as to what may take place in the succeeding posts. I will look forward to the author's next post.

Compelling story with an easy to follow storyline. Never a good situation when a child needs someone and they are not there for them. Good piece that bears following. Did not notice any spags.

WHOA! What a true of events. Oh my. I'm so enjoying your story I just can't say.

I didn't see any fixes or nit picks ( shew , huh) LOL. :-D

I also really enjoy getting to know Mildred. You had me concerned for her health. That is AWESOME writing. I am totally invested in all your characters. Bravo.

Well, I look forward to reading more. Keep 'em coming my friend.

Hi Sandra. You are amazing for your accomplishments and on your fine story. Congratulations. I like your new photo. You look so happy there and I don't blame you. This chapter is well written and clear. Heartbreaking about the disease of leprosy. Image at top of page is gorgeous. Marilyn

Thank you, Marilyn! What a lovely thing to say. I was just so overwhelmed when I held my book for the first time, I still can't believe it. It took more than 60 years to achieve my childhood dream. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this part. Thank you for this lovely review. Big hugs, my friend. Sandra xx

So the only person Francis had was his grandfather! That's no fun. Why would his father, an albino himself, someone for Francis to relate to, LEAVE? Terrible father, if you ask me. But wait! Maybe Gwendolyn didn't tell Jacob she'd borne his child...?

I've said this before, but to no avail. I will keep saying it, though, because I'm not called a nagger for nothing. POST story chapters more often! I can't remember what's going on from one to the next. I'm not even the oldest person here. I imagine others get lost too, since your story is very complicated.

All I can do is ask. Sighhh.... :)

LOL!! This has been on site for three days it comes off tomorrow!!! You sleep too much! lol. No, Jacob doesn't know he is a father, he left the country because he believes Gwendolyn got married to that creep. But, all is not lost. :)) When is the next part of your story coming? I've waited a whole day now. :)) I have a fit of the goggles now. Thanks for the laugh, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Ohhhh.... now I know why it sounded SO FAMILIAR. I did read it the day it came out, but I got distracted somehow and never wrote the review. Stupid me. So sorry. My brain is dying from lack of oxygen, I think. :)

Well, that puts a wrinkle in things. Nice work on this part, Sandra. I'm enjoying your story. I wonder when she'll travel again and what the latest revelation reveals.

Take care,
Russell

Thank you, Russell. Veronica has to have a chat with Mildred and James. You know our Mildred, she's not as thick as she makes out she is, she's more the sensible one. I'm delighted you are enjoying my story, thanks, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

Sandra, you outdid yourself with this chapter. Great ups and downs, tension for Veronica while waiting for James' news.
Oh dear, things don't look too sunny for Francis.

I hope Mildred perks up soon. Can't have anything happening to our Mildred!

Thank you so very much, my dear Sue, for another 6 star review!! You are soooo kind. I'm glad you liked it. I'll be on Skype all day, weather not knocking out my internet! Freezing cold here and we have more snow!!!!

-Very nice image.
-Poor Ver.-- upset that she couldn't get news,
and then she can't find Mildred.
-I didn't think anything was seriously
wrong with her, as she is a big part
of the book, and luckily that was the case.
-I guess Ver.'s comings and goings are
becoming stressful for Ver. and the family.
-This is typical Mildred:
'Don't you go thinkin' up no nonsense, now.
I knows what yer like.'
-Well, it seems Jacob remains as mysterious as ever.
-Good chapter, Sandra.

I think there might be a lynching if anything happened to Mildred, and I'd be the one hanging there! LOL. Thank you so much, my dear friend, I know you are most likely Mildred's biggest fan. There is a lot about Mildred we don't know about, yet she seems to have taken a hold of many readers hearts. I'm really pleased you thought this was a good part, I had one reviewer say it dragged on. Thank you for that. I know you would tell me if it did. Another thank you for the 6 stars, and more hugs just for being you! :)) Sandra xxx

"Oh, Lordy, Miss Sandra, me outta the story? Well, I never. But I know you wouldn't do that, 'cause I have lots o' fans on this here site."
No, we couldn't be without Mildred. You are welcome for the review and stars, Sandra.

If this goes to Hollywood (LOL) would you play Mildred? You have her off perfectly!! :)))
reply by Pam (respa) on 01-Mar-2018
I would consider it; I was in my jr. class play in high school🙂 However, the perfect actress would be Meryl Streep, my favorite female talent.

Hello Sandra,
A nice, subtle delay tactic you used here to keeper the reader
from the learning the news until the very last words of the chapter
with feints and scares about Mildred's health.
Veronica seems to suffer from short term memory loss and thinking the worst
that Jacob might be dead (an affliction common to women).
So, not only is Jacob in another country, but in a leper colony.
What next.
Well, tune in next week for another exciting chapter in the unending adventures
of Veronica, the reluctant time traveler.
Well done.
Robert

...'an affliction common to women'... I wonder, does Pam see what you say in your reviews?? LOL, I'd be very careful, :)) Jacob needed something that would help him get over Gwendolyn and leprosy was ripe in Egypt at that time. I decided he should go there. I'm good like that! Thank you so much, Robert, for another lovely, fun review. Big hugs, Sandra. xxx

The suspense drags out in this installment. You drop some hints about an unpleasant business, and then we have to wait while Mildred is lost, then found napping, and then we have to wait for James to come home, play with the kids, before finally revealing this horror; disfigured faces, figures. And the mystery of why this guy went missing in Europe or Africa for so long. Ten years. We'll have to wait for the next installment to see where this is going. Some of it seems a bit unnecessary. I think you could quicken the pace and pack the intensity a bit more for greater impact. estory

Thank you, estory, for reading this part and sharing your thoughts. I don't want to pack it all in one go, life isn't like that, and if it was, we wouldn't be able to cope with it. Things do 'drag' out not matter what the subject is. Thanks again! Sandra xx
