This is a good entry for the Haiku Poetry writing contest.
Your verse has a clear story in so few words.
Well done, and good luck to you with the competition.

Ah, you nailed autumn. Death's celebration, indeed. People ask me why I dislike autumn. I say, "Because it means winter is coming." I fear the dark, gray winter season. It always feels like death. All the things of beauty die. And fall leaves are a beautiful last hurrah nice job.

Hi, Roy;
This was absolutely lovely. It is strange to think of the beautiful colors as 'death walk,' but it is so true. The leaves change into beautiful shades as they loosen their grip on the branches.
Thank you so much for sharing,

Comment from Gloria ....
I keep forgetting you are in the southern hemisphere, so you are heading in the opposite direction season wise than we are in the northern hemisphere. HAHA. Sorry I had to gloat for a second there. Sigh. Great job on your haiku Roy and best wishes to you in the contest. :)

My favorite season is autumn because of all the glorious colors. Here in Texas, I don't get to enjoy the fall colors. We have two season, hot and hotter. LOL Thank you for sharing.

A lovely haiku Roy with a beautiful autumn picture. Excellent first tow lines, grammatically connected and a perfect satori line to end this haiku.
Very nicely done Roy

Great entry for the haiku contest! Is it autumn there already? I hope you have a longer one with lots of time to enjoy the season "flaunting her wares." The last line aptly describes the reality of the leaves dying and turning such beautiful colors.

Cheers, Roy;
-I believe you have captured the essence, paradox and irony of autumn. Because in actuality were really are praising the beautiful colors of autumn as the leaves turn their many colors were actually praising the death that's going on in the landscape.
-I find this to be ironic or leased a paradox, in a way, As we don't usually praise death.
-Good luck in the contest, right, as you touched on something quite different, unique and ingeniously creative, take care and have a good one.
