Hello!
Oh my goodness! What a moving haiku about the movie, Dr. Zhivago. One of my all-time favorites: the story line, the passion, the scenery, the historical significance. Brilliant and masterful. Your haiku contains all of the necessary elements and creates a well-crafted and creative homage to the film. Well done!
Best Wishes in the contest!

Hello author
I agree with you about the movie Doctor Zhivago about the scene you described
memorable scenes take place at the ice palace at Varykino where Zhivago and Lara steal a few days of passion and seclusion.

Ah, here we have man conquering nature--eyes fired with passion enough to melt snow. Alliteration with midst and melt, palace and passion. Assonance with frozen and snow and Omar.

You nailed it. I know there were going on and political upheavals, but this scene is what I remember most. Thank you for understanding.

This is a lovely Haiku for the movie review. Ya, know, I just can't remember ever seeing this movie as many times as I've heard of it. Hmm...I could of years ago. I'll have to check it out, sounds like a nice love story. Good luck! ~Kerry

It's a great love story. True love. Thanks for reviewing my Haiku. Check out the movie when you have over 3 hours. It's quite the saga.

I will thanks.

I think its an interesting haiku, you have that great nature image, and the image of the snow melting, speaks of the hardships the couple is going through in revolutionary Russia, as well as the love that keeps them alive through it. estory

You said it better than I did. It is about their special relationship and the power of their illicit love

Another Oscar winner that failed to grab me before I wandered off. And we hear that fiction has to grab you in the first paragraph. I never imagined Haiku movie reviews, but with the snowy reference to a winter background, you did very well indeed.

It got terrible reviews because it was so long. I?m a history buff. I really loved it. Thanks for the review.

Difficult to judge these, but I like the area depicted...almost the beginning of a story or fantasy...within the confines of 5-7-5.
Good luck with it.
My best wishes.

A very well-written haiku movie review. A love story that anyone with a grain of romance in their veins will enjoy this movie of passion that melts the ice palace.

Thanks for reading my poem, Sandra. Wasn't it a great movie?

Ah, that was such a long time ago. That movie launched Omar Sharif's career. Probably helped Pasternak's career, too but I think his works were still banned in the then Soviet Union. Loved the "ice palace passion" and the idea of snow melting under Omar's gaze!

Thanks. When I think of that epic saga, those are the two images that come to my mind.
