"God sees me as I am.......", is an extremely well-written and spiritually-uplifting piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post. To me, this is a definite six!

Roy, I don't know what you mean by the past two days, or why you would be rejected, but you seem a good man - better than I if you forgive your enemies.
Also I don't get the line "this world will measure me by feet."
Your poem is expressive and sad and your belief in God is strong.
Bless you,
Katharine - pome lover

Thanks Katherine, for these encouraging words and a great review, to measure by feet, simply means measuring in secular terms. blessings, Roy

Once again your faith shines through. The love from parent to child is paramount, even if it not always the same the other way around, yet when it becomes of faith and the Lord, it is in equal balance for those who believe.
Well done.
My best wishes.

This is beautifully worded, and your AABB rhyme works perfectly. It's a wonderful thought to be loved for who you are. Nice comparison with the way parents see their children. The consider them perfect, regardless of imperfections. It seems that knowing you're loved by God makes you able to deal with mockery from others. As for loving your enemies, that's really difficult. A woman in my town, a Holocaust survivor, says that she forgives those who persecuted her. That is real forgiveness. judi

This is a beautiful poem!
Most people try so hard to cover themselves up and "wear a mask" from others around them, but only God can see past that.
Very well-written, and carries a deep meaning :)

In my opinion, rejection is not in the cards for you, Roy, even in this secular world, especially because your heart and spirit is filled with the love and grace of the Master of us all - the poem addresses love, but also the foibles of humanity, in easy rhyme and casual rhythm. It appears as joy and humility in the writing...

This is a great reminder for all who are in Christ. It is so very easy to listen to the voices of condemnation, whether they come from without or within. The "good" and "blood" rhyme was a bit of a stretch, but it still works. Thanks for sharing.

Sometimes we need a good reminder like this. I'm not perfect and I never will be but that's okay because I'm still loved just as I am by the only person that matters. Great job friend.
