So true. When will we ever learn. Why can't men get along with each other? We are on all going to pay for the greed of a few. No one wins a war. Well written poem with perfect rhyme and meter. Well done. Nancy

I really do find this highly interesting. The sun is of course an object, scientifically verifiable. God or, if you prefer, a god is not so verifiable. Now i hold that man created god (if you want to add in his image, feel free) so if man ceases to exist the god he created, with or without a capital letter, would cease to exist, like the sun in your poem. But this won't/can't happen to the sun because its existance is not subject to belief. so the sun is quite capable of outlasting man. Its very permanence renders it an excellent candidate for deification, but only man can create a god so...

Is this what they call a circular argument?

You and I seem to think alike. The sun was a central part of 'god-focus' in most primitive cultures around the world so I just figured the sun needed a poem. lol Thanks friend. tom

Very interesting and intriguing story about our sun. It would be a terrible thing to lose for the planet earth and mankind. We should take care of our earth and sun they are the only ones we have. I really like the background color and the font color choices too. Sherman541

A sad reflection of things on Earth. Thanks for putting it to words in a well-composed poem. I enjoyed reading it and it flowed well from verse to verse.

"The soul of man is now without

the love that made him part of me,
he drowns in war's iniquity."

NICE!

What a powerful and scary, haunting piece!...
Says a whole LOT!... Didn't come across any problems...
Got a nice smooth rhythm and rhyme to it...
My compliments!

This Kiss the Sun a different perspective and worthy one little dooey realize it wasn't for the miracle of the fact that many many billions of years ago if the Earth was shattered buy an asteroid and a chunk of what it's called the moon today started to revolve it also pushed us into an atmosphere close enough to the Sun for humankind to survive Heavenly Father noted this and took advantage of it and that's where we are today the sun provides many things besides just warmth and light it provides us with seasonal changes there would be no winter or fall or spring will be a constant unbearable heat a torrid desert like state of being if it wasn't for seasonal changes of the sun the sun also helps control the liquid on Earth too much liquid and we flood in Parrish and drown the son of evaporates the excess and transports it from the sea into drinkable rainwater so many things can the sun do provide solar energy a new and important form of virtually free electricity the son also helps when it comes to creating crops upon the Earth without the Sun's light and heat a seed would not nourish let alone grow into a fine plant or a tree which will then also provides shelter and protection.

This is a profound write about what the sun has seen and man's treachery and deceit and our warring ways, a damning poem with no let up throughout, we are guilty as charged, I hope the sun doesn't bleed though, a fine write from your talented pen, love Dolly x

I really enjoyed this. The flow, content, and rhyme scheme were skillfully done. It seems that everything man puts his hand to, he destroys. There is so many elements of this to like. Thanks for sharing this. Very nicely done.
