Great job on this piece. I like how you linked your joining the rank of grandma with your children who served. I enjoy writing because it gives me a voice, so often are we defined by our roles in life, a role I would not change for anything. It sounds like you have been so blessed in life. Good job writing this piece.

Thank you!! Yes, I have been blessed... good, bad or otherwise, I have been blessed. Over the years I have felt like I'm a wife and a mom, but I lost track of who "I" was... I have always loved the role of mom and wife but writing helps me stay grounded and reminds me there was a "me" before I had a husband and children. As you said, it gives me a voice, and we all need to have a voice... Thank you again, so much, for the review and insight. Have a blessed evening!!

A very matter of fact write not missing anything important here, but I did get a sense of pride and achievement in your life and you have certainly fulfilled your ambitions and have a beautiful family, good luck with the contest, it's difficult to write your entire life story in 150 words, but you managed it!
