Tony, I smiled through this whole poem (although I did feel sad a bit with the world apart section). Such wonderful imagery of the two and three of you having such joy together. She is absolutely stunning! Those eyes! I hope the time speeds by until you see her again. I totally loved and enjoyed this entertaining poem.

I recognized some of the butterfly names but not heard of the Fritillaries or the Chalk Hill Blues before. We had a Birdwing butterfly in our garden vine laying eggs yesterday, always a delight to see these beautiful creatures and I absolutely love your beautiful butterfly write. Gorgeous photo too. Very many thanks for your review, Valda. A bit of an international mixture of butterflies in this one. I think that the Fritillaries and the Chalk Hill Blues are both English varieties mainly. All the best, Tony

Yes, it was wonderful seeing her over Christmas! Such a pity that she is so far away most of the time. Perhaps that is what makes the times when we are together so special!

The distance has to be difficult, but it is nice when they spend the time with you. I didn't live close to my grandparents, either, and saw them once a year, only it wasn't as far.

I take this as a metaphor although it works out literally. Butterflies can by the big and little surprises in life. A lot of B alliteration. F too with :She also freed Fritillaries/ to flit around my hat."
