There is much to ponder in this meaningful verse. Translated (word of mouth to written Hebrew to written Greek) religion, fantasy and our history/destiny (as taught in our schools). Rhyme and meter is excellent. I like your use of Peregrine, it envisions wandering vultures in search of scent. I remember it being used describing political hacks wandering the voting districts. How apt.

Great poem that flows well.
Only one suggestion
"Death lurks and laughs with flash of eyes," this first line made me pause slightly. Something seems to be missing before "flash of eyes," possibly "a" or "the"?

Hi, Tom;
As I read the lines of your poem, I was surprised to find you believe Black Death lies in wait. As I pondered the fact though, I had to realize that we are always on the brink of something, and the rats still have fleas, and they do carry disease.
As always, your poetry led my mind into distant territory,

Beautifully written poem with such a powerful message. The alliteration brought a richness to the poem that engaged the reader. The line, "scorn has stained sweet liberty's dream" created a profound image. Very nicely done.
