This is a really good ode to your mother. A monostitch ode.
I wish you all the luck in the competition. I wish they could have illustrations, but I guess they want you to guess.

I like the illustrations, too. Thank you for your review.

So sad yet so often true.
It seems humans just never learn and we don't know what we really
have until it's lost forever.
Sadly deep regret is often the price that's paid.
A clever, thoughtful and thought provoking monostitch poem.

Thank you for your thoughtful words.

You captured that feeling of guilt just by the finality of "and now she's gone." It is a heart-grabbing thought. Great job with this monostich that many can relate to!

Thank you for that vote of confidence.
Comment from Gloria ....
Very nicely written monostitch author. These short poems are not easy to write, and you have managed to capture a lifetime of meaning and emotion in 10 syllables.
Excellent and I wish you the best in the contest.

Thank you for reading this, Gloria. I am still in my baby step mode. I thought that I could handle 10 syllables. Thanks for saying that I did it well.

This truly is an impossible dream. One I think all of us whose mothers have passed on can relate to.
Very nicely done and good luck in the contest.
Blessings

Very real and thought provoking. Throughout my life I have heard regrets are really just lessons learned. I disagree. I know about regrets. Great job on this writing. And God bless.

This impossible dream mono stitch poem brings tears to my eyes. It is so poignant. You have said so much in just one line. Good luck in the competition. Best wishes Jen.

Bless you for those kind words.

Yes, this can really be a powerful regret. It very often isn't until we have lost someone that we begin to realise their true worth. There's something here that most people would be able to relate to in your poem.

Hello!
The sentiment that you express in this monostitch poem is poignant. Words left unsaid, and now your loved one has passed. Never an easy call, and no one knows the particulars. Thank you for sharing.

Now you wish you'd listened to her all along, and would probably give anything to hear her voice once again. I know I would with my mother. Good luck with this contest. This one, I am sure, will hit home with a lot of readers.

Thank you for reviewing this Brett. Hitting home with readers is exactly what I was trying to do this time. My themes usually do not hit home with anyone.
