I loved your phrase "wild flower's dance." The evolution of love into a sacredness is powerful. Personification of a "cruel clock" is especially descriptive.

Here is a Valentine with a difference. Not for you, Roy, the uusual mindless platitudes and moon in June triteness. Here we have an educated discourse on the nature of love in language that would do credit to Shakespeare.
Finally in the last stanze the poem has a personal dedication. Excellent work.

I wish I had a 6 left to shine on this beautiful poem, Roy. Your love for your wife comes through like a golden arrow piercing the darkness, brightening everything around her. What a wonderful tribute to marriage and especially to your wife. I think you have a winner here, my friend. Good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx

This is a beautiful tribute to the love you have for your wife. I'm sure she will really enjoy this one.
You know Roy, everlasting love is a hard commodity to find these days. It's truly a gift from God. The experts say that 50 % of the marriages end in divorce within 5 years here in America. What an awful thing that is.
My wife and I have been together for 50 years this past November. Happy Valentines Day...Bill

Congratulations Bil, that's a feat my friend. The divorce is the same as the US here, it's an epidemic, my ancestors would roll over in their graves. Thanks for the great treview. Blessings. Roy

I loved those opening lines:
"Youth's beauty's like a fleeting glance,
a skip in time -- wild flower's dance".
However, after the initial passions of youth have started to wane, it takes a certain amount of grit to weld together the bonds of a truly lasting relationship. The forge makes a very good metaphor in that respect.

Hi Roy, this is so well written, but more important it sounds written from the heart. The following certainly is -
We've shared a life with twists and bends,
it's stood time's test, on grace depends.
You've stood beside me, sun or storm,
in you God's grace assumes love's form.
I Love you dearest one ............ How beautiful to openly declare your love so easily.
Warm regards Dorothy

Awww! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful valentine to your wife! I really liked:
"
Love soars and crowns the head of grace,
it dies to self, reveals God's face,
it's like a fortress built on rock,
not subject to time's cruel clock. "
Thank the Lord for Love like that!

The fourth stanza is dynamite my friend; even in a valentine verse, you spiced up with spiritual tone; simply beautiful; thanks for the delightful read.

Roy, this poem is so loving and tender and the verses speak of an everlasting forever love. You exhibit such caring and sweetness in you analogies of love's worth. Well written. Tell me, though, why did you write the date 5/2/2018. This, of course, as you know, represents May 2, 2018. Did you mean 2/5/2018 February 5, 2018? lol liberty justice
