Hi, Connie
Your timely and well-rhymed poem hits home with me. I've been buying books from Amazon for about eight years, at least. Then I started finding items that I couldn't find in my small home town, and now I'm definitely hooked. I do buy locally when I can to appease my conscience. Now that Amazon is looking to expand to brick and mortar, I'm wondering what the future will hold.
Loved this:
'Don't bother putting on your clothes
to head out to the nearest mall.
Just sit there in your underwear
and place your orders large or small.'
Great job!
xx Bev

What a great review, Bev. Thank you so much! Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I've been very busy planning my husband's 70th birthday party.
My best to you.

Hello!
Your poem poses a very timely question. My understanding is that many malls and departments stores like Macy's, Sears, and Penney's are suffering greatly - if not even closing - because so many people shop online and/or Amazon. Thus, readers surely can relate to the message of your poem which flows well.
Well-crafted!

A very well-written poem about the convenience of shopping online. Some people get addicted by ordering everything online, before they know it their bank account is empty and their living space is takrn over with all kinds of gadgets.

How true this is! You did a great job with this! I am sitting next to a person right now who is irritated with Amazon with not getting his Amazon prime order out though in a timely manner. WE NEED OUR STORES! Good creativity. Good job with the photo choice. Good timely issue.

What's next is the subsequent closing of every mall, strip mall, Wal-Mart, Khol's, J.C. Penny's, and any other department store you can imagine because no one is patronizing them any longer, Connie.
The logic here is, "Well... if I can do everything from the comfort of my home, get great deals without ever having to go anywhere, then why not?
That's "what's next..."
Technology can be a blessing as well as a curse, and especially if you happen to be an employee with a family to feed at one of those aforementioned business.

Where will the money come from to buy all those special things with just one click? It won't be long until there are no jobs and people lose their phones. My goodness they will have to look up and acknowledge the world around them.
I have never shopped Amazon except to buy a couple of books.
I am so glad I am on my way out of this world instead of just arriving. LOL Well done Connie. Hugs Nancy

Thank you, my dear friend, for such a great review and for the six-star rating as well.
Good for you that you've only used Amazon to buy a few books. Wish I could say the same.
I think I've become addicted.
Hope you are doing well.
Hugs,
Connie

Connie,
When I saw the topic of your post, I thought, 'Duh!" -- this is a post I should have made long ago! I am an Amazon freak. I get deliveries on a regular basis and I'm not sure if my UPS man loves me for helping with job security or hates me for all the work. hahahaha!
Well done with some great thoughts.
The only negative thoughts I have for you is that the tan color is rather drab and the font is soooo small. That's it! Thanks so much!

Thank you, Robyn, for your delightful review. Yeah, I agree that the font in this poem is too small. I kept trying to change it, which I've done in the past with other poems, but for some reason I was unable to do so. Oh well . . .
Thanks again.

Yes, even my grandkids can and do shop on Amazon. I love it. I buy most of my gifts that way and some groceries too.
great rhyme and meter.

Thanks, Teresa, for your review and that precious six-star rating. Sounds like you and I have something in common--I love Amazon too, though I hate to admit it. It's just soooooo convenient.
Thanks again.

They already have drones. Who knows what they'll do? Maybe peek in your window to see what products you buy.
Funny thing: Just before I came on FS and read this, I placed an order to Amazon. I'll get my items in a day or two since I'm a prime member... of course! LOL!

Thank you, Phyllis, for your delightful review. I'm a prime member too, and it is just too much fun ordering things. My little grandson Jack is almost four now, and he knows all about ordering things.
Hope you are doing well.

Don't bother putting on your clothes
to head out to the nearest mall.
Just sit there in your underwear
and place your orders, large or small.
I love this poem, Connie. I just love it. It's an easy read with good rhythm and rhyme. It's an effortless ride. More importantly, it has something to say. I could see that empty mall as you spoke about it and I worry about this too.
Good job!
