I felt sad at the end of this poem. This poem seems to take a long journey through life and seems like it is going to have a happy ending but doesn't. Some of your descriptions were very evocative, I think a few more concrete images would be good. Good job evoking emotions through your work. It was a good poem.

Wow... I guess I had a different take on happy. I was thinking more of a content happy rather than like, a bubbly happy, I guess. At any rate, I sure do appreciate you reading my poem and writing a review. Have a blessed day!! :)

I love your poem! This is a great entry for the contest. I can sure relate with feeling happy when at the ocean, as I always feel the same when in/on/near water, be it ocean/lake/pool. Just the mere thought of it makes me happy too. You've said it so very well in this poem. I love it all, but this is my favorite stanza:

"The waves come crashing in,
Then roll back out to sea,
With them go my troubles,
At this moment I am free.

Sometimes, it's only momentary. But there are times, when I'm having a bad day, that it's all I need. I have a beautiful family that makes me very happy as well. There's just something so special about sitting on the beach and letting yourself be consumed by the sights and sounds...

This is a very beautiful and well written poem for the what makes me happy contest. You used very good descriptive words and lovely art work. My favorite part was:
Its beauty is astounding,
The world just slips away,
Alone in God's creation,
I'd give anything to stay.

My eyes well up with tears,
Sunshine warms my face,
Raw emotion in my heart,
When I am in this place.
