The unifying factor has to be the picture of the heartbeat graph created by the lines when the poem is viewed sideways. There was also very nearly a unity of syllables line for line in each stanza but not quite.
I did wonder about this line:
"I was born to love the person I become" Should that be "became" or "I've" or even "I'll become". As it is it doesn't seem quite right to me.

A very well-written thought-provoking poem. We are born in this life for a certain purpose. We all are unique and have our own general goals in life. The only purpose we all need to find is the light at the end of the tunnel.

I like it a great deal. I MIGHT have done it by starting the first line of each stanza with I was born to . . . and then just let the rest of the lines follow. I sort of got slowed down by all the I was born to parts, because the rest of your lines are PROFOUND statements! BUT, you are the poet and you made the strength in the words I was born to and it works well. I like it.

Pretty interesting poem, RJ, and I especially liked the fact that you can turn it on its side and it looks like a lot like cardiograph.
