A set of country scenes, which themselves seem to represent the end of their time and era, and somewhere in the middle is our life, which also will end in decline and death. The alliteration and rhyming were a bit too strong for me in this one, but I am sure it was deliberate and intentionally that way.

This poem establishes focus with the strong stresses present in its first line. As the poem continues, it uses images from old-fashioned agriculture to establish a setting within nature for the wayfaring work a human must do en route to his or her ending. In tetrameter, there is one line that leaves this consistent meter, and like the first line, it employs strong stresses that importantly interrupt the music of the poem and thereby ensure that the reader's thoughtful participation will not be lost to the raptures of rhythm.

Just love the way you put things with such splendid alliterations, like, "the never ending wend of wind." I like how those strings of words roll off my tongue and fill my mind with such imagination of life. Like how you use the, "betwixt", which is where we find ourselves whether we want it or not.

Well, the red barns are certainly a dying breed in farm country.
An era of the metal pole barn variety has arrived and is peppering the landscape. Not nearly as pretty as the old wooden structures of days gone by.
Great ode to them.

This poem conjures up some strange images but I will be honest and say that I don't understand it. I presume that it is about death in some way but the images of the shed and barn do not really resonate with me. The alliteration is great though and I am sure that other people will get it and love it.

There's something a bit Dylan Thomas about this verse. This is a very bleak and eerie landscape of death conveyed with some quite dramatic imagery and word play. Thanks for sharing, Debbie

Well, I do think it is well written; however you already know that, right, but it is puzzling in the sense I sense a pastoral scene with rolling hills which is hard to find with salt-coated drying nets.
