Valentine's Day can be horrible for a lot of people that feel they have nobody. I am pretty sure you made him feel special that day and I also bet he has never forgotten coming home to a stuffed mailbox.
The vision on someone hiding in the bushes, in the cold to catch the reaction is priceless.
This sounds like the last encounter you two had.

Did you every get to meet him?

    Hi, MJ;
    Yes, Pat (Patrick) and I met and dated for quite some time. Pat was one of the best and worst things that ever happened to me. I choose to only remember the good things; I didn't tell him I was the Anonymous sender for a full year,

Patty, you have the worst habit of frustrating the snot out of me!
I want to read that these two met under the moonlit sky and at least shared a beautiful kiss. :-)

Wonderful story!

Keep up the great frustration's!

    Oh, poor Sue!

    Well, we did meet, and we did date for a while - a long while. Patrick was one of the best and then the worst things that ever happened to me,

Oh such a fun memory and what a fun and bold thing you did that year for Pat. I'm sure he has fond memories of the event as well:)

    Hi, Teresa;
    It was a fun thing to do. We did end up meeting and dating several months later. It took me a year to tell him the truth about the Valentines,

You might have been lucky that you never met him. He MIGHT have liked a bit of young meat. On the other hand, he may have just regarded you as a nice kid.
One time, I wished a workmate a happy valentine's day when I didn't understand the concept fully.
He didn't return my greeting.
I thought that we were mates, too.

    Hi there;

    Eventually, we did meet, and we dated for quite some time. Knowing Patrick was one of the best and worst things in my life,

    But for a few sweet weeks, it was the most lovely story...

Good morning, Patty

Enjoyed the valentines day story. So he was aware of you being on the ledge almost from the beginning. Did you ever find out who he was or meet him aside from being on the ledge?

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

Aww. This is such a sweet story, Patty! But actually, as a mom, I'd be terrified for you because of all the teen girls lured away by strangers via the internet these days. But that you delight most in making someone's day is the best part of the story!

What a lovely romantic story. You told it beautifully. I wouldn't change a thing about this story. It was easy to follow and enjoyable to read. The line above the title says,"...cards from a stranger." I assumed by this line that you would be receiving cards from a stranger, but no, you were the stranger. Quite a twist on a theme, I would say. This story is very believable whether it is true or not. It doesn't matter, really. Well written and well told. You definitely earned a sixer from me. Thanks for the lighthearted read.
Take care, Jesse

    Wow! That sounds like another poem or story, how Patrick became one of the best and worst things in your life. You captured in picture-like form, those few sweet weeks you enjoyed being a stranger and then, becoming someone who you dated for a while. A wonderful freezeframe!

This is fantastic, Patty. Perfectomundo.
In the back of my mind was a different direction for this story to go. I'm so glad you didn't take the story that way.
Your story is sweet, different. Human beings acting in the best possible way.

Well, did you two ever go out?
A cute Valentine's story, and so very like a high school girl to do.
Whether it was a completely true story or not, it's a cute one.

Take care,
Rhonda

    Ah, haven't we all been there? The mystery was better than the reality? Been there, too.

Good story, Patty. Pat and Patty sittin' in a tree.... or on a rooftop....

Wherever you can be, you're a Valentine if somebody wants you.

He sounds like a truly lovely young man.
