I enjoyed this dialogue and I was thinking to myself 'self, I don't think this is going to be a workable relationship' Sorry about that opinion but... Great write liked their somewhat 'harried' tone and wish you luck in your Dialogue Only Writing Contest.
Thanks for the read - Dinah

I am glad you liked the dialog. There will be another cliff hanger and a surprise ending. Thank you, your comments were helpful.

Hi there,

Sound quite authentic here.

If you're starting a new paragraph in dialogue, you don't need to close off the previous one with closing speech marks. Only one set at the end although you still need opening ones for each new paragraph. Otherwise it sort of signals a new speaker and it can get confusing.

Its a good thing I turned down - It's.

I like working for the State Department, It beats the Departments - it as you're following a comma.

I think this feels a little unfinished. It's part of the conversation rather than bringing it round to a close.

Yes, it will be continued. Another cliff hanger with a couple of reveals then a smashing conclusion. There will be a couple of conversational short questions with answers for a little necessary backstory. With no tags whatsoever. They will be coming later. Thank you for the stars and comments.

Hello Henry King
so these two very professional people are making plans for their up wedding, to me sounds like they are arranging to have a marriage of where they will have tough decisions of what to do next
I like the dialogue sounds like a couple I know.

Thank you very much. Even though this is fiction. I have close relatives who are similar. I see them at funerals and once in awhile on Christmas.

I think this is a good entry for the 'Dialogue Only' writing prompt.
Your story is well told in the dialogue. It leaves lots of questions though, who are they, man? woman? Who's Dad is who?
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.

Aha! Sharon, no tags are allowed. The dialog will be continued throughout the year. There are two more chapters. Some of your questions will be answered in the second chapter and a surprise revealed in the third. The dialogs are filled with suspense and cliff hanging. What will happen at the retreat in Aspen and at the meeting in Rio? And, most of all, thank you for your comments and stars.

I am very bad at dialogue and I am very impressed! I can never seem to make it flow the way you do, it really sounded like a real movie playing in my head. Great job 5 stars for sure.

That's the problem with "power couples". They have conflicting schedules, and huge egos. It's hard to work around both. I think that's why so many of them break up. It's hard enough to keep up with when you're poor folk.

Great dialogue.
Take care,
Rhonda

Rhonda, Thank you. Wait until my next installment. It's fun. I have known these people by working for some and being related to some.
