Deep is the meaning of this poem. Like this stanza As engineers electrified
Thin etchings drawn in ink -
The architects conceptualized
Artistic dreams to think.

Thanks for sharing.

I agree totally, we have become a "throw away" society and so much of the beauty that our forefathers built have long gone by the wayside. So very sad. Your poem brought that to mind and I enjoyed the forcefulness of those words.

This is an awesome poem about preserving architectural history. I love the flow, rhyming aspect, everything. Thank you for sharing this. It is definitely worthy of the award that it received. Very well done.

A well written poem capturing brilliantly the theme of your write. As one who worked in the Architectural field for many years I can appreciate the message of the poem. It speaks of the loss of skilled talented artisans who took pride in what they created and built. It is sad that there aren't many today that see their work as valuable works of art and greedily destroy them for profit only.

An excellent poem

Thank you.

Eugene

I like your expression their right wing Rockwell faces. That is a very original metaphor for me. I am once again impressed by your abab rhyming patters. You use it with such ease, and it is the hardest way to write for me. Another excellent job.

This is more than just a glorioƻs poem but a thought-provoking reflection on who we are, where we came from, and where we are going as a human race. Blessings, john

I agree. The skyscrapers that they build these days cannot even be compared to the beautiful architectural buildings of the past. I think plastic was the downfall of mankind. I think they make things today that will fail or wear out so we will need to buy another. LOL

Sounds like great tribute to soldiers in field. I feel frustrations of state of affairs. Indeed I feel injustices sacrifices of our soldiers. How well you honor our military. Well done! liberty justice

It is not really a tribute at all to soldiers Liberty. I did mention soldiers once in the poem but this poem is about immigrants who brought their artisanship with them from across the sea and built grand and artistic structures only to be torn down because there was money to be made in destroying beauty and replacing it with cookie cutter edifices for profit. I thank you Liberty. tom
