Social commentary poured out in poetic lines. Why oh why can't we glean from the past -- both good and bad -- and work, while still dreaming, of better times for all man kind? Write on!

Love it. The promised notes don't seem to be appearing, but if they refer to the mixed meter then I'd hope they'd be unnecessary: that was my favourite feature, really well used, and, I'd hope, very obviously deliberately. Excellent craft.

Fourth stanza from the end, second line, should there be a 'turned' after 'sadly'? And in the seventh line, should 'pluncered' be 'plundered'?

Really liked this one, great job.

Take care.

-James

Hi James. You must have begun reading this while it hit the screen. I do have 'turned' there and so are the notes with a brief description of why I wrote this poem. And, sorry, a statement that the poem is, yes, written in mixed meter and mixed rhyme. lol Thank you good friend. Most honored as always. tom
