Yes. as the old TV message unskillfully used to say, "A brain is a terrible thing to waste." So are sixers, and I regret I have none left for your very amusing and cleverly conceived poem, Tom.

I like your poem very much. It must be an ignostics prayer? The last stanza with
the accepting of death makes the poem although it is all very well expressed. I appreciate the jingle about the serious thought.

Thanks for sharing your poem, but I believe God has away of making people His disciple. The poetic lines are fluid and the rhymes are smooth. There are no grammar and spelling issues. An excellent write, well done.

it would be nice, to think it so -
that heart a soul somehow survive
passed on to what we do not know,
but heaven's gate and heaven's hive
of reverent hymns and bended knee
just seems a fairy tale to me...
an antidote to the painful truth
that done is done
once the body quits
and the brain goes dark
Theology or fingers crossed,
scientific posits or catechized thoughts
won't restore what we have lost
once our brain has no more watts -
So raise a glass in toast to the now
and scoff at disparage and raised eyebrow.
I guess that means I couldn't agree more ;-)

I don't know what visions and wonders others have seen, and I won't muddy the water with my opinions, except to say, hum-iambic tetrameter, aabb rhymes. Excellent.

A+ for the verse(don't have any sixes); my friend, you are one hell of a talent; another profound and thought provoking write in challenging verses and excellent rhymes. My personal belief is that all of us would be resurrected with all our faculties to include the brain and that every iota of our being will speak at that time.
P.S: Well hell, I'd say, I'm glad their(they're?) here.

Uh oh, so you're saying if we have no brain then we would have nothing to tell us so? My goodness I think that's about the best "truth" ever stated about the reality of it all.
Excellent and thoughtful post, Tom.

Very good again, flawless rhyme and meter, as I've come to expect.
One tiny correction:
Stanza two, line three, 'your' should be 'you're'.
Otherwise excellent, very well done.
Take care.

Very creative write, poetic line structuring I found pleasing in given aspects, a wonderful conveyance of views.
Suggest:
Where honor brings the glory days. All in my opinion of this write.
