This is a very well written and interesting poem, that brings up lots of questions. How will we know what happens after our body/ brain ceases to function? What I believe is that the body is just a vessel to hold our soul, and after death there is something......not sure what but it will be interesting to find out! Thanks for sharing this thought provoking poem.

This is a rather haunting and thought-provoking treatise on this somber subject but artfully sculpted in harmonious metrical cadences and
perfect rhymes, a literary masterpiece! John

Aha! The old argument as to whether there is or is not an afterlife. I like the logic of your argument mainly because I am inclined to be in sympathy with it. It would be so much more comfortable if i could believe in pie in the sky when you die by and by but, like you, I can't.

"If I were ask..." Typo here should be "If I were asked..."

I'm with you - "time to drink!"

As you so rightly point out, although there is still much we don't understand about how the brain works, we do know it requires a functioning one to think. So how we can continue to have thoughts when it has turned to worm food is something of a problem, as far as I'm concerned.

One minor typo - possibly...

In the first line, do you mean "asked"?

A very witty, clever treatment of the subject - well done.

We are unfortunately very attached to our brains and if goes before our body is ready to die it is a very sad state of affairs, first line: I think you mean to say (asked), love Dolly x

I love it! It flows nice. I did notice one possible typo though in the first line "If I were [asked] to make the call" other than that this is a wonderful piece and I love the ending. So true, we may never know the truth because once we're gone our brain is too.

A very well-written poem. If our brains could live on without our bodies it would not be necessary for a body anyway. The only thing that lives on is our soul and it should be feed the food it needs.

Yep. I agree entirely. It baffles me that people can preach about things that they have never experienced. Great poem, Best wishes Jen.

If I had to pick my mind or my body I would choose my mind. I love this poem. I think we all wonder about that sometimes and you did a great job of explaining that. I hope I understood it right.
