This is a fine sonnet in the Shakespearean style. The progression follows the classic development of the sonnet form. Love as a general state is described in the first quatrain, and this idea is developed in the second. There is no "but" to alert us to the arrival of the volta despite it's presence there in the third quatrain. This particulises it and takes us back to the original meeting. Rather than summarise what has gone before the couplet deals sadly with end of the relationship when Death intervenes. All i can say is that if I possess sufficient faculties to write like this in my nineties, I will be a contented nonagenarian.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience for a mere infant of 76 such as myself.

Sincere condoleances to you and your family on the death of your beloved wife - so fondly and tenderly and gratefully remembered here in these stanzas - the pain of loss of ones precious spouse is deep as I too lost my dearly beloved husband a few years ago

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my brother last year, but it's not the same.
I don't know what to say; I could recommend Elizabeth Kubler Ross's book to you called On Death and Dying. I took a course in this and it helps a lot.

What a loving poem! I too have lost my love and can certainly relate. Love is always in the heart once there nevermore to depart even when the lover is taken away. HUGS
