A very nice poem. My kind. The rhyming and meter are superb. One minor suggestion: Para 3, line 2, Change " there's" to "there is". This line needs one more beat.

Hi Scanless. Thanks for reading my poem I tried to get it right and a strict 8 syllable count in every line. Perhaps it is the way we pronounce things, but to me that line has 8 syllable in keeping with my meter, but I do thank you for your suggestion and I do so appreciate your review Many Cheers Christine

The rhyming is clever, and also entertaining.
Never having visited your great continent, but having met some of your "mates" along the way, I think this work is a great representation of your country and people. Thank you, Chrissy.

Wow, this is a fantastic poem, Christine. And me without my sixes. I keep forgetting Australia is a day ahead of us, well 16 hours to be exact as one of my Aussie FS friends says. Although he said it might be 16 years too. lol.

Thank you my dear Gloria I couldn't let this pass without a poem LOL Thanks we are going to the movies tonight (Gold Class) to watch a new, very Aussie movie 'Swinging Safari' with all Aussie actors I can't wait. Thanks for your good wishes I'll raise a glass to you Cheers Christine

Hi Joy, Thanks so much Yes Australia day is celebrated on 26th January usually with BBQ,s and fireworks.. It is also a day when many foreign people become naturalized Australians so it hold significance to many born or who have migrated here. We are a very lucky country indeed. Cheers Christine
