wow, a great poem about hate. Hate is strong. It is something we should not have . I hope you don't have it. Keep up the poetry writing. Keep smiling.

Wow! There are so many great lines in your poem though I think there are two that make me pause. The first is, 'It's fate that I will always be here.' And the second is the last line, 'Inside of you all there's a place for me.' Both of those lines are rather haunting.
Thanks for sharing!

And you could add "You'll find me on Facebook", This is a stark poem that tells a blunt truth. Hate is real and destructive. You use some great adjectives to describe it - "Seething", "Suffocating". Perhaps most insightfully you point out that it is "fueled by fear" -very true in the USA today.
You also issue an alert that we are all potential prey for hate "inside of you all there's a place for me". Great line. I can see why this was a POM nominee.

Hello Boogienights
You written an excellent free verse poem with powerful imagery of hate
as it worms its way into the psyche of each soul.
Excellent use of sound and alliteration to accentuate the theme.
I wonder where hate comes from? Is it part of DNA? Was it taught
or learned? It seems to be pervasive, in every society. Difference
appears to be intrinsic to its existence. Perhaps competition for survival
evolved into dislike, then grew into hatred.
Greed also appears to be the brother of hate.
Ah, how to avoid. That's the question
Well done
Robert

This poem really strikes a chord. It's very timely and relevant to the political and societal dealings happening now...yet it is timeless as well. It encapsulates the human condition and forces the reader to confront the "ugly" no one wishes to see in the mirror. Very moving and thought provoking verse. Great contest entry. Best of luck!

Oh my! You certainly defined hate in a most astounding poetic voice. The entire overall effect is intense, the visual along with your poem. Very creatively done. How right you are. This is brutually honest. Hate will most certainly always be with us and how very sad. It seems to be right up there now rearing it's very ugly head. This is a very timely piece as we seem to bringing up the old avenues of hatred again and I find that very disheartening. You have done well with this. Good job.

This is really frightening. I know we all have the tendancy to hate/be negative, but this illustrates how this powerful emotion can over power some folks. Very well written. Best Wishes, Lou

Great personification of the satanic nature of hate. I agree with your sentiments that hate in itself is just waiting around on us like the devil just waiting for us to show signs of resentment towards other people and once we allow those dark emotions to form then they will eventually trap us in their web of deception. Well done.
