A beautiful poem in tribute to your father. Your words paint a picture of a man that filled his life with love for his family, and he will always live on in your memories. Thanks for sharing your emotional poem with us,

Hello L. Raven,
Wonderful presentation, and lot of thanks for letting us know about your worth following father!
Although I'm too late in responding due to some unavoidable circumstances, but that matters little.
"...my father found his treasure within his family
a family that cherished everything about him
he was our father, grandfather, friend, our hero
and those who knew him, admired and loved him
called him Pop-Pop"
Excellent!

This is a beautifully written, deeply moving, and heart-felt tribute to your dear father. I am sure he is aware of the love his family and friends feel for him. I enjoyed this very much and the photo of him is so precious.

This is a beautiful picture of your dad. I especially liked stanzas 4,5 and 6. The brevity had great impact because of your word choices, a succinct portrait of his values in just a few words. I think you might consider including the part described above about getting to his home - the dirt road leading to the dirt road, the critters arriving when he put out the corn. These comments enhance how he lived a simple life and how he felt about animals. I enjoyed this portrait. Thanks for sharing. Marge

Hi Marge, that's fine what you would consider...but what is wrong with the poem itself...you don't rate poems on you personal opinion...you rate them on mistakes made...you need to read the FanStory laws before reviewing...thank you...

Your father reminds me of my father, he lived to be 86 years old and fought in WWII. He lived for his family, like your father did. This is a poem that brings forth good feelings in the reader and I love how your father fed the wild animals corn.

This is so nice, Linda. I'm sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose a much-loved father. Nothing ever fills the void in your heart. You've done a great job of describing the man who loved and was loved by his family. I hope it was at least a little bit healing to write this.

I like your personal poem in memory of your father. It is well-written and well received. It flows with love and reminds me a lot of my father who also passed away. He was also a humble man who loved his family and put them first. Thank you for sharing such a personal story. I also like that you used his picture for your artwork choice.

Dear L. Raven,
I am so sorry about your Pop-pop. This is very sad, but a beautiful dedication to his memory. I bet he would love it, and maybe he does.
I have a suggestion:
oh how he taught us to love
(maybe 'and') how not to put ourselves above others
to honor our family and friends
they would always be there for us
TC,
Nome
