Mermaids,

Another of yours came up immediately -- how fun! I am amazed at how much you have to say about mermaids, my friend. You must really, really love them! *smile* I have a friend who is crazy about unicorns and she talks about them all the time. One of my loves is the Titanic. I guess we all have our favorite topics, huh?

But this one was cool. I like the idea of that mermaid sitting on the rock talking to the moon, sharing her deepest thoughts and feelings. Sweet!

I think I have a mermaid muse and she keeps inspiring me to write poems about her people. Unicorns are beautiful too and occasionally I write poems about them. Thanks for a great review. Elaine

Mermaid--
I am fine with this poem until the end when I need a "and reflects on the midnight moon" or something like that to conclude it. I think I get your point that mermaid is a metaphor for a source your inspiration. I like that.

I enjoyed reading your poem. I like how the shape of the poem is similar to that of a mermaid. I liked 'the night is hers' and 'as she sits upon a sea worn rock'. Its a great poem and I wish you the best.

Beautiful image. I just picture the mermaid emptying her mind as she reflects in the moonbeams amidst the ocean waves. Also, beautifully displayed in the sea foam green. You see beauty as well as fantasy and you set my mind reflecting. Good job.
