Thank you for this lovely review and taking the time to read. I now keep a journal by my bed and hope I can decipher the scribbles when I wake.
Have a great weekend.

A cute and clever poem with a lovely style about an event which happens to us all from time to time. My best ideas do come late at night which doesn't do much for sleep, but when the inspiration strikes--go with it. Great poem, my friend~Debbie

The poem reminisces dilemma of a writer, most especially, when his itinerary is saddled with lots of activities; and when faced with health challenges.
The work highlights the importance of promptly setting out to write when the inspiration comes and to go for a tranquilizer, when emotionally disturbed.
The work earns it's advisory texture through the use of rhymes, metaphors, alliteration and onomatopoeia.
Outstanding work! Keep the flag flying!

I know exactly what you're saying!...
I myself have gone through the very same thing (and still do)!...
Great poem!... Nice smooth rhythm and rhyme...
No problems with it at all that I see...
Well Done, as far as I'm concerned!!

I know that feeling Brigitte, you have a thought about a write, and if you don't write it down straight away it's gone! I think the mind runs rings around us at night! I could identify with this write, I liked the repetitive words to drive home your message, love Dolly x

I am glad that you read and commented. The lovely outcome? I managed to write a poem about the experience.
The repetitive words came from the ticking clock and went straight to my head.
Thank you for your lovely review.
Have a wonderful day, my friend.

Gosh. I don't know how many times I've woken up with a brilliant idea for a story or lately, an edit to a story. Anyway, great little rhyme. I like the repetition. I jogged my mind into the cadence of the poem. Of course, the message is clear. You need a tape recorder at your bedside. Great job.

What a cute but realistic poem. A fun read. I don' know how many times I've woke up with an idea only to find it's forgotten before I can write it down or that it wasn't such a hot idea after all.

It probably was a great idea and it will come back at another inopportune time. Thank you for reading and the lovely comments. It is nice to know I am not alone with this dilemma.

Hi, Brigitte;
Oh, no. I hate when an idea just flits through my head for a moment and then - just like that - it's gone. It's as if it was never there! Oh, dear, dear friend.
The nice thing about it; you DID manage to get a well-written poem that almost all of us can relate to,

It happens, doesn't it. You seem to fend off memory loss ,
for your writing continues with excellence.
I really want to get back to my style, serious, family, faith, and personal posts with a twist. I seem to have lost the knack, temporarily, I hope.
Have a great day and thank you reading and the lovely comments.

OMG, I do this, too, and it makes me nuts. I tried keeping a voice recorder by the bed so I could say it and go back to sleep, but I couldn't understand my sleepy slurred speech.
Funny. Good write.

That is funny. Never tried that technique; I can't read my late night sleep induced scribbles. Thank you for reading and the lovely comments. I did manage to get a poem out of the experience, lol.
Have a great day!

I know what you mean. My best work comes to me when I'm in the shower, but by the time I get to write them done, it's lame.
Your verse is well written and a lot of fun.

Ha ha, I can relate to the shower ideas, too. The images though, not so pretty and better left alone. Thank you for reading and glad you enjoyed it. I am having a difficult getting back to my usual style, serious, personal, and faith inspired. Time, I hope is on my side...
Have a great day.
