Hi Patty, I have never heard of anyone faxing the post office before! LOL I'm sure you are the talk of the town there. They are hard to get a hold of though, and clearly, don't want us calling.

I wish I had six stars for this story. Seems that you may have an addition to your profile and resume.
The power of the pen (and a fax machine) should never be taken for granted. Loved this story and your hubby's reaction was priceless.
You have my prayers for endurance throughout your upcoming grueling work.
Hugs,
:) Brigitte

Yes. Moving can be a very stressful event. Especially if you don't do it very often.
A well written true story.
My wife says that our life is just a constant process of packing the ute, driving somewhere and then unpacking the ute. (I believe that you would call it a Pickup truck) But we live a distance from town and we run a mobile handyman service.

You've got to laugh, haven't you? LOL. Serves them right for not answering the phone, I wish they would all go back to being humans answering calls, no wonder we all feel like we need counselling when we get off the phone. I hope it was all sorted out in the end and you can peacefully go about settling in your new home. :) Sandra xx

I couldn't help but laugh at the scene you have presented. It is totally frustrating to be in the process of moving and having extra hassle.

Somehow I don't think you did much for your popularity for the lazy individuals at the post offices

hugs

Freda

If I worked at your post office, I would have reviewed you fax for spelling, punctuation and grammar, just like your story. Bit I don't think I would have found any errors because there were none in your story. It is funny how a little letter can go a long way in the customer service world.

I liked your story. It was anecdotal. It told your readers about a problem and how you fixed it. Great job. Thanks for posting.

    Hi, Dan;
Have to smile - YOU would think about checking my grammar and spelling - wouldn't you? Well, after all was said and done, I have the keys to my mailbox now --- AND they were delivered by a very apologetic mailman,

Post Master of (the) Salem, Oregon

don't need the 'the'.

Loved it and got a chuckle for the day out of it and I do love the stories you bravely tell us.

Hi Patty, I know where you're coming from. I'm in the process of buying my new house. And everything is approved. Now I'm waiting for the them to say that the money I've got for the down payment has not been laundered. It all comes from my bank yet it's still taking them a week to figure that out and I still can't sign. The world has gone crazy. I wish my only problem was the mail! A nicely written piece. All the best. Ulla:)))

Hahahahaaaaa... Good for you, Patty! I'm laughing so hard, I'm exhausted too. ;)

they have a maddening menu which doesn't allow you to reach a real human being. ~ Oh, I hate those machines, yet all too often I have to go through the whole song and dance with Telekom when my internet plays funny or goes to sleep. Ggggrrr!

(Okay, it probably wasn't seething, but I felt much better after I wrote and edited it.) ~ Right, I know the feeling; after getting it all out, there's a sense of relief.

Well done and well told.
It is often frustrating when you try to get in touch with a service and all you get is a machine.
I've had similar experiences with hydro and gas. Customer Service seems to be a thing of the past.
Thanks for sharing this.
