Oh my goodness, Patty: This story is so hilarious! hahahahahahahahahaha! You wrote them up for not answering their phones! hahahahahahahaha. I can totally understand your frustration. I mean, is it too much to expect that one of the busiest places in the world would have some professional consideration for it's many, many customers. You have a right to expect them to answer the phone. I think I am laughing because I would have don't the same thing. I love this, love this, love this... You are so amazing, my friend and an exceptional writer. I must buy one of your books. Stay strong, my dear. You know what to do in situations like these. Good job!

    Hi, Tier;
    Thank you for stopping by to read this little rant. I DID get my mailbox key (and fairly quickly.) The funny thing is, they told us we would have to return to the post office to pick up the keys after they were made. Last night, there was a knock on the door, and the mailman delivered the keys to me.

    Hmmmm. Think they're afraid of my fax machine? LOL

    hahahahahahahhahahaha, Patty you have them in fear of you already. (tooooooo funny) You know that the pen is mightier than the sword. Your written complaints could go along way, you know. Anyway, I think it's great that you had such a powerful first impression there. They now know they have a writer in town who may very well write a book about them. They are afraid of ths, believe me. hahahahaha...YOU GO GIRL!

I really enjoyed this. Sometimes when you move, things get mixed up with the mail. I love the way you stayed on point and nailed it home. She was tenacious and wasn't going to be denied as she should have been. Well done.

Haha, they probably deserved to be written up for not answering their phones. I know how frustrating it is to try and reach a real person. Can't wait to hear from you in your new home and hear how everything went.

How funny, that they ALL got caught not answering their phones!
I, too, get frustrated at the seeming impossibility of reaching a human at more and more businesses.
I think your story displayed well your frustration with the situation and the creative solution you came up with.

Good job, Postal Patty!

I am happy to hear your moving is moving right along and I am also happy to hear you got one over on the postal service. They deserve a good thrashing. I get tired of getting my neighbors mail and them getting ours. We have to exchange it often.

Well, I learned a new phrase today, "going postal" can I borrow this? LOL . I enjoyed reading this post.One more phrase "fax lady", you are really skilled in telling stories, because you have a natural flair for words. Thanks for sharing, all the best.

A maddening tale of dealing with the post office. In NC we have all kinds of problems with the post office, and you can't get in touch with them either, and if you speak in person with them, they seem to not know what they are talking about. Missing mail, late mail, mixed up mail. Never seen anything like it before. they teach our kids to question why they know what they know, but they can't sort mail. estory

Good for you, my friend. I have written many letters of complaint on various issues. Sometimes they are ignored, but often they get good response. At minimum, you have proof of trying to address the issue if further steps are needed~Debbie

I remember when that term first made its appearance, after what was then a very rare mass shooting in a post office when an employee, or an ex, went bonkers over something.

Today, I side with those going postal.
