Excellent description and subject matter. Something we lose sight of at times and a brilliant way you have explained it's presence there waiting.

This poem, What is Hope?, offers a dozen or so examples that we should all take a moment to witness ourselves. This one ... a baby's sigh as it falls asleep in your arms... is a big one for me lately. Happy day.

Dear Bill, Thank you for your review and the five stars. "Ullo 'Ullo !! Grandchildren sitting are we?? I do hope no=one is ill or suffering greatly. You included of course. A lack of sleep or broken sleep can take its toll, how well I recall. but not for many years now. Your comments on the contents of my piece which speaks of the many forms in which Hope presents itself, are timely and appropriate. Thanks again cheers Cass

These words your wrote are excellent for the topic of Hope. Your words flowed smoothly and each verse transitioned to enhance the many aspects of hope and served your title well.

Dear Friend, Thank you for your review and the five stars. The poem came out with such a rush I had trouble getting it all down
before it faded away. As it was, I had some re-arranging of lines to do before I posted it. It appears to have hit the right notes, so that's a plus. I am glad they resounded so favorably with you . cheers Cass

This is a very nicely written poem about hope. You used very good descriptive words describing hope in many situations. You used very good imagery with the sweet picture of the precious little baby. Blessings, Teri

Dear Teri, Thank you for your review and the five stars. If you can remember being sleep deprived with a colicky baby, the feeling of hope as he falls asleep is a real blessing. Thank you also for your charming compliments on my work . They are most generous and i deeply appreciated cheers Cass

"What is Hope?" was well written with great theme and imagery.
It flowed well and read well with no grammar issues as well.
Adjective Content was aligned well with Objective Content and Descriptive Measures aligned perfectly.

Hope makes no promises,
But mends them like we do a treasured toy.

This is so very true, without hope there is no dreams

Dear Barb, Thank you for your review and the five stars. This is the first poem I have written since the return of My Muse .
It is in blank verse, as a sop to my decision to write prose this year, but I'll take whatever she gives. Hope is the belief in a better future when all our dreams come true. cheers Cass

A very well-written poem about hope and how and where we can find hope in our daily lives in the small things we do and sometimes never notice that it is gestures of hope.

Dear Sandra, Thank you for your review and the five stars. Yes, the essence of Hope is often in small, seemingly inconsequential things. A crying baby who suddenly falls asleep is a true point in question. One of mine had colic, not badly, but enough to disturb us night after night. I'd bought a different kind of tummy medicine for him that day and it did the trick!! Result = a perfect baby who smiled all day and slept all night. A small thing, but with wide reaching effects. My husband and son were able to sleep better, I was thrilled to have a contented baby and my mother-in-law stopped telling her family I didn't know what I was doing. Huge plus. cheers Cass

Dear Dolly, Thank you for your review and the five stars. The poem came to me in such a rush I had trouble in getting it all down.
Most of the images came from my own experiences, or of people close to me. One of the most evocative is the coin found in a pocket. I was very young, very vulnerable and very scared. All the guests had left and I was the last to go. My ride had gone without me and I had no way of getting home. I found ,not a coin, but a bank note in the pocket of my coat. In the distance I heard the whistle of a train. I took off at the run, silver sandaled feet flying as I saw the train coming from the bridge. The driver let out a hoot and pulled into the station and waited for me to come along the platform. The conductor came to see if I was alright and offered the engine driver's compliments. When I got off at Adelaide Central I thanked the driver as I passed the engine. He said although there were no people at that station and he had no need to stop, he would never have left "a lady in distress". cheers Cass

Good morning, Cass: I see that your muse has returned and she is so lovely. This poem of hope sings beautifully to my heart and it says everything that I agree with. Hope is all this and is the anchor of most of our faith. it gives us reason to be and do, just to keep going. It pulls us along even through our daily woes. I really enjoyed this poem, all of it. I am happy that you are writing your poetry again. It is marvelous!

Dear Tier, Thank you for your review and the five stars. I love writing poetry, I guess I always will, but I need the stimulation of a new challenge. Ah well, at least people enjoy reading it, which is a huge buzz for me. Thanks again for being so supportive. I know I made light of My Muse being absent, but it was an arid episode of frustration which I didn't enjoy. Anyway, she's back now and keeps looking over my shoulder to see what I'm writing. I have a feeling that soon she's going to settle into story mode
which will be LOTS Of FUN. Cheers Cass
