This 5-7-5 poem that tells a fact of life. Painful memories do stay with us. But we do need to not let them rule our lives. There are so many good thing to center on.
Some people use those painful memories to create ways to help others.

Keep writing

Joan

Hi if we stop and ask ourself how many bad memories are there to try to forget, there are too too many. Try to save them..and we come to know how hard they are...and this even if we try hard to discard them. They never leave you, as I know them myself.
God bless

Hello L. Raven,
It's a heart touching piece of poetry seems to be coming direct from the bottom of your heart.
Impressive and matching the theme wording.
Such things written or spoken are treated as a universal truth.
Superb!

A very well-written poem about painful memories that have the power to overwhelm the good memories. We need to make a strong decision, to call on the good memories, until the bad memories, leave our minds.

These sentiments are so true and it can be a constant battle to focus on the positives in life.
Very well expressed and complemented with a great image.

Hm, I find this to be true. Nice haiku!
I hope that you can move past your hurtful recollections, though :) Something that I have been told is to forgive the past, yourself and/or whoever hurt you. That is how you move beyond the past. Be well!

How very true this is and I have spent the past few months focused on negativity. I don't have many good memories, but need to quit walloing in self-pity and get on with living life. Well done, my friend~Debbie

Your animated picture selection really established the mood of your 5-7-5, and your choice of the word "burn" intensifies your message. Maybe painful memories are cemented as a survival mechanism, in order to try to prevent repeating negative experiences. More sighs- Joan

I am sorry it is pouring figuratively and maybe literally. Thank goodness you can be philosophical and know all will be well.

I am sorry to report my Peripheral Neuropathy has gotten worse, and our next trip won't be until May, when we'll take an easy cruise to part of Italy and Greece. Thanks for looking forward to it with me! Warm regards- Joan

Unfortunately, it's Ideopathic--meaning the doctors are idiots--not really--they just don't know what causes it; so, there is no treatment plan. I just keep fighting by doing my own research, performing exercises and taking many supplements. Take good care of yourself- Joan

I will...you do the same...I do a lot of my own home care because of my allergies...most doctors are pill pushers...and don't want to find out the problem...I do have some good doctors...but some are quacks...LOL...
reply by Joan E. on 18-Jan-2018
I've had a similar experience with doctors--often, if they don't have a drug or a surgery to prescribe, there is little they offer. Best wishes with managing your allergies- Joan

Sometimes, it's like that. We think we're healed and can move on. But sometimes the broken heart still feels the pain. Thanks for putting it so well, Linda. May the Lord keep daily healing memories.
