Hey girl: This is very emotional and you have said so much with so few words. I guess we all experience painful memories throughout our lifetimes, especially when we lose someone really close to us. There are many things that can cause us to experience sadness in our lives.
But, I have discovered after losing both parents, 2 brothers, a sister and many, many other family members that those painful memories turn into joyful memories as time passes.
We all have to remember that there's nowhere in the Bible that says our lives will be easy. We will all suffer pain and agony while here on earth, but that will all come to an end once we enter the gates of Heaven.

indeed. i can relate very well cos i was in a psychiatric ward for 1,5 years. i wish i wouldn't remember all the strife and how messed up i was but sometimes flashbacks bring everything in mind.

Sad memories can be etched into our hearts like deep cuts in glass. However, despite the cuts, time will hopefully allow some sunlight to come through and shine a rainbow through the tears. Lovely poem skillfully expressed in such few words.

I think this is good use of the haiku format, you have the balance, and a nice nuance of voice here, a kind of somber tone. My only suggestion is you need an image, in haiku, preferably a natural image, to be a focal point of the theme, describe it and articulate it. Rain might be good for this. estory

Everyone grieves in diversely different ways. Some cry and become reclusive while others throw parties to try to forget the pain. Some immerse themselves in their work, if they're fortunate enough to be working, while still others go to church for fellowship.
It's been said that misery loves company, and that may be true to a certain extent.
But, as I stated in the outset of my review, we all grieve--ALL of us--and should be permitted to do so in our own time and in our own way.

Yes, your picture and poem bring about comforting thoughts, even though you talk of the pain; still, I know what you mean about painful memories. To be alone or comforted by someone? Again, the rain is such a symbolic and spiritual comforter. Great work - very nicely done.
