Sounds like a Fair Warning to me. I like how you are humanizing the animal's mood and thoughts. It reflects a sense of common communication and respect. New Zookeeper, old, powerful Ape. I would accomodate his mood.

This is good work. I like the straight to the point feel of it. I also like the content and flow. The accompanying artwork is spot on. Well written and well done.

    Thank you for expressing your appreciation of the piece, Marilyn. I like it, too, and had hoped - but didn't expect - it to do well in the competition. As has been the frequent case for months, it didn't get any votes. (I have suspicions about that.)

This senryu, Advice to the New Zookeeper, has a 5-7-5 format and states some simple logic about operating around great apes with a chip on their shoulder. Don't do it.

Excellent! This is a fun senryu and a joy to read this afternoon. I enjoyed the humor and the picture was perfect. His word should be sufficient.

The look on the face of that big, bad, silverback gorilla is more than enough.
I believe I would do as I was told, heh-heh.

I like this poem a lot. I could see this being advice given to management at work by half the people a few or more days a week. The gorilla is a fitting picture for this piece. Best of luck with the contest.

A very well-written Senryu. I think we all get this kind of days one or other time when we just want to be left alone and if anyone dares to ignore our signals they will definitely have it from us.

I think this is a good entry for the 'Senryu Poem' writing prompt.
A good and clear message in your few words.
