This was a fast trip back in time. I'd love to know more about the Powers That Be and understand their reasoning better. It would help me get an overall picture, but I realize that would involve spoilers.

At the top of the page you mention this chapter is promoted until Sunday. you might want to take that down now.

More comes out about the PTB as the story continues. They are there for a reason which will be told almost at the end. I have to keep them mysterious for a while longer. :)) Thank you for another lovely review, my friend. Your are so kind. Big hugs, Sandra xxxx

The suspense. I love it. You write it very well. You keep me 'on my toes' as I read. I always 'hate' when I come to the end. I want to read more. But thankfully, since I've been gone so long I can 'turn' the page and go read what happens now. LOL :-)

Wonderful chapter and I really liked the picture you picked for this chapter. Makes your character seem real.

Great writing.

Nice work, Sandra. I enjoyed this part. Now Veronica needs to find where Jacob is. He should stick out; someone must have seen him, right? Hope so!

Looking forward to more,
Russell

-I like the opening scene with Joe and the chocolate.
-It brings Ver. right into the story well.
-Joe seems to have a sense of humor, as well.
-The scene with Gwendolyn is excellent.
-We learn a lot about how Sir John is acting,
and how distraught Gwendolyn is.
-She is unsure about Jacob knowing about Francis.
-I also like the last section when Gwendolyn reveals
that Jacob is thousands of miles away as far as she knew.
-It really adds another twist to the story.
-Though Ver. might be overwhelmed, she is her
determined self, but the question now is how
is she going to be of help?
-Could it be she will go to Bristol?
-An excellent chapter, Sandra.

Sandra,
Another turn of the old screw,
Jacob as a traveling missionary,
now that would be a wrench in Veronica's plans.
But at least Joe has mastered chocolate,
maybe he'll call his new chocolate "Godiva"
make a fortune, buy the old mansion
and kick Sir John out on his duff;
thereby altering history and creating ripples in time.
Just a thought to rile Jowell for messing with history.
But, back to the past
an excellent continuation of the story
Perhaps Bristol is the next stop.
Never underestimate a woman...like Veronica.
Well done
RS

Bristol? It might be ... might not be ... LOL! I'm sure Jowell would love that, Joe making a ginormous ripple in time, he'd burst a blood vessel for sure. You might wonder where I've been living all these years, but I had to Google Godiva to see what it had to do with chocolate. I'm glad you didn't see my red face. I hadn't heard the name before. :( Thank you so much for your fun and wonderful review, my friend, and for all the bright sunshine stars. Big hugs, Sandra xxx

Veronica definitely has a dilemma on her hands. Especially if Jacob is truly in a different country.
I like how Veronica has a tremendous ability to connect with the people event hough they are from a culture so long ago.
Great work!

Thank you so very much, Michael, for this lovely review and all those stars! Veronica does have her work cut out in this book, but perhaps the 'powers that be' will give her a nudge in the right direction if she gets stuck. Or not! lol. Thanks again, my friend. xx Sandra x

Because my membership has ran out I am no longer a Premier Author, meaning I am not able to administer six stars to you when worth. Financial upgrade is not an option for me right now so I am considering my options. I tell you this as not to keep apologising with virtual sixes written atop your work or non participation in contests or voting. I will not post work for now nor vote, but know I will continue to read certain works and review sparsely until time, so please forgive me of my fan base for lack of attention at this time. I will continue to read most works. My apologies if any review during this time not full. Best Wishes. RG
Another fine write, Sandra. Sorry couldn't administer the right rating for the piece. I know I said I wouldn't comment on that but, glad to have read.
Have a good day.

Of corse WE know the powers that be are in charge, and of course they are pulling the strings and pointing Veronicain the direction she should go. Having said that, she still has to work it all out and put the pieces of the jigsaw together.

Another great chapter, Sandra, and no spag that I can see!

So glad I have a six left.

Oh my, Sandra, this definitely has some interesting twists and turns. Joe's chocolate is fantastic and passes Veronica's taste buds. Gwendolyn is overjoyed at Veronica's return but is dispared over Sir John's behavior and the future of Francis. Veronica indeed has a lot on her plate to stir through but I have faith. She is right in her thinking because The Powers would not keep sending her back if she wasn't meant to save Joe and his family and Francis by finding Jacob. Very well done my friend, very much enjoyed.

HI Alie, thank you so much for this lovely review. I think Veronica had it easier in the first book, at least she could get hold of Mildred a lot more. The Powers are there for her, but in the background, keeping an eye on things. I'm so pleased you are still enjoying my book, big hugs, my friend! xx Sandra x

Now that I think about it I agree that she did have it easier in the first book. It is just so enjoyable it is comfortable to follow. You are so welcome Sandra... big hugs in return.
