This is a great story. It's marvelous how the dog's behavior changed after the duck showed up. He had really found a new best friend. Dogs mourn their lost companions. Not so sure about cats. The pictures with this are really cute. Pinterest seems to pop up everywhere. I even get recipes from them. So glad you shared this delightful story of animal help--even if it is of a therapeutic nature. Just what George needed. jusi

Good morning, Trisha: This is a very interesting post. I really enjoyed reading both the picture's story and the one you wrote to explain the situation again. The duck is so precious. It doesn't seem like a coincidence that this duck just happen to show up when it did and then it stayed around to cheer up the dog and help him to heal away the grief. What a lovely story. I love it!

    A lot of people don?t believe animals have emotions. I strongly do after having our dog. He?s like a child when he?s scolded, and creeps close to me if I cry. I fel better today, lots of reviews to answer.Thank you for reviewing

Hi, Trisha;
Animals do have feelings and emotions. You can see it when you tell your dog, he's a 'bad boy.' Your cat can become so mad, he refuses to use the litterbox.

This story confirms the things I've always believed. Thank you so much for sharing. Now, maybe people will stop telling me my animals are incapable of communicating with each other.

This is a very interesting story about one animal helping another, and an unlikely pairing of a dog and a duck. I enjoyed the story - thanks for sharing. Cheryl

Thank you for finding the story about the duck and sad dog. I truly feel and believe that this can happen. My older cat, age 16, died three days ago. I have another cat, age 3. I look to see if she if affected by the death/loss of the old cat. I cannot tell, but wait. I do believe that when we are hurt deeply, someone or something -- as an animal/bird/whatever will come to us. Perhaps these are our angels. I found my 3 year old cat -- abandoned -- one week before I lost a job. I knew that she was sent to me to be my companion and comfort. Like the duck following the dog, my 3 year old cat follows me everywhere.
You did a good job with your narration.

    First thank you for the compliment. I am with your belief all of the way. Since I have been posting about animals I am even more convinced

Given the timing of the duck's appearance perhaps the feathered friend is a reincarnation of Blackie. This is a lovely story and quite uplifting. It would be nice if people were as willing to help each other as the animals are :). Nicely done and thank you very much for sharing it.

    It could be. I just have come to realize that animals have a lot of ?us? in them. Our dog is more human than dog. If I cry he comes close and stares, then whimpers
    Thank you, hugs
