Such a wonderful tribute Maria to your father, I am sure he was able to watch over you as you grew and as your guardian he protected you. He may have been physically gone he always stayed with you. Well done.

What a wonderful piece of writing in tribute to your dear dad, who was obviously a wonderful man. Your words were perfect and very moving if a little sad..
This was great and what a wonderful picture of you both together.

In 1970 I was 16 but I still remember vividly Dad running me to soccer on the weekends and the beach and waterskiing behind the ski boat he made. He was small in stature but big in heart just like your dad Maria. Christmas time is a time to reflect as well on those loved ones we have lost too early.

Such a touching poem Maria. Psychologists say a girl Aquires her self worth from her father, equally a lack from the opposite circumstance. I can see the adoring look on your father's face in the photo, I adore my girls, they mean everything to me. Now they are wives and mums, successful, loving ones, and I am proud to think I've been part of that. I had occasion to spend a day with my six year old,, granddaughter, when she said "hold my hand Bapa" (Just like your photo) t felt ten feet tall. Bless you Maria, for reminding me how precious they are. Roy

What a beautiful poem! It seems to capture the essence of this person, your father, which is, let's face it, a better description than any collection of dry facts could offer to the reader.
I do see one spelling error-in the seventh stanza, second line. You used the word "said", and I think you meant "say".
In all, a great poem, brilliantly emotional and descriptive.

Maria, This is a wonderful tribute to your father. You were among the lucky girls in this world who had such a dear fathers. Sadly that was not to be in my case. Patricia
