A very well-written poem. We all have our favorite dishes we like to cook for our families. Those meals often end up with special made up names to amuse our families.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Shots! Shots?
Hahaha, dinner from a bottle, 'ey? There's a few members in my immediate family who often have those for dinner.
I prefer steak myself.
"Doodlebombs", huh? It sounds like a word a frustrated comic book illustrator might use.
"Dammit! Now I gotta start all over. This crap I've drawn is nothin' but Doodlebombs!"
Heh-heh-heh.
Best wishes to you in the contest.

I am reviewing this before voting in the contest. "Doodlebombs" is the word and filet mignon is the prize. Nice little entry. When asked what we were having dinner, my mom used to say, "Worms and Dirt." This reminded me of her.

I think this is a good entry for the 'Make up a Word' writing prompt.
It's a good one.
The picture is a good match as well.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.

My neighbour used to answer "Bread 'nifit" when they asked her what was for tea.
Another of my acquaintance was less polite and would say "s**t on a shovel". When my kids came racing in to ask what I was cooking for tea I'd usually reply with something disgusting or revolting like "dead cat pie" or "pig's eyes stew." to which they would respond with every expression of pleasure. "Oh really! how yummy. Will the cat be defurred or do we have to chew it off like we did last time? " Their schoolmates were more than somewhat wary of accepting invitations to tea until they worked out the joke . My boys would say the most awful things with a totally deadpan expression and I'd be the one to give the game away with fits of laughter. This review is NOT about what the poem is about, but it did remind me of happy days from long ago. So please excuse me.
Cheers Cass
