This is fun what a different idea. We have tons of snow and it is like a picture postcard from hallmark, I live in the near north Ontario Canada. Christmas is great but after a few months of this glaring slippery mess, I would love to be singing the yellow rose of Texas, Merry Christmas.

You are a perfectly fine poet. I got a real kick out of this one too. We don't get snow here either and although it is pretty to look at, I don't miss it one bit. I hope you and your family has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you. When it comes to this time of year I do miss it, but only for a day.

Barbara: quite an imagination for the twelve days of Christmas.
I'm amazed at all the creatures in Texas. I used to see the Longhorns
since we lived in Dallas for 18 years.

You have great humor in this with your rattlesnakes, dolphins, alligators and
roadrunners. God creates wonderful animals in all his countries. The duchess
wrote a poem about Australian animals on the front page.

Merry Christmas. You deserve extra stars! ********flylikeaneagle - nancy ****

We have a white Christmas up here in Minnesota.

Barbara, this was a fun read for me since I live in New Mexico and we have many of the same critters as you have in Texas. It was a joy to read. Blessing for a Merry Christmas. and I hope you get some snow. Patricia

This is really great. It's definitely Texas talking. (I lived in Mesquite for about ten years. I don't think I would appreciate any of the "gifts" you describe. They do remind me of Texas, though. Thanks for the memories. Have a wonderful Christmas and healthy New Year. judi

I love it. I lived in Arizona for a few years. Very creative use of local fauna. The poem flows well and rhymes. A nice twist to an old Christmas song.

This was a delight to read. As an Arizona resident I could easily identify although I would have had to insert an elk. Well done and thought out.

The eyes of Texas are shining on this one. This is a nice twist on the old standard. I imaged Gene Wilder and Cleavon Little singing this around the campfire in Blazing Saddles Part 2. I don't think you're looking for comments (per your notes) so Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing some joy.
