I get the wanting to listen to your surroundings but sometimes music and the outdoors is the only thing that gets people through. Plus, if they don't have their music on full blast they can still hear the leaves crackle and birds singing. Sorry, that person on the their headphones. lol. Enjoy your walks friend.

AMEN!!! I would also like more parents to tune into their children. I see parents, everyday, come to my door to pick up their children and they are on headphones. The children try to talk to them but they're too busy. I hate it. Thank you for sharing your wonderful and very appropriate poem.

-thank you for taking me along on your journey is it's been a long time since I've been jogging at any lengths. I used to love the job when I was much younger will you kick that second wind and off you go like you just started again. Full of energy to restart the trail and your senses.
-Your free verse poem did this to me. It is very refreshing, spontaneous, and like a haiku gives that aha moment or a reflection of spontaneity waiting for the excitement to reply.

Oh, very nice poem with a great message. You are so right! I never understand why people want to bring noise (headphones, 4-wheelers, etc) to beautiful natural areas. What a waste, LOL. I see no errors. Good luck in the contest!

I liken this to a passenger on a road trip who spends the entire trip engrossed in either music or some game the entire trip while passing by them are sights they may never again get a chance to view. These people need to be in a state of suspended animation since they care not about the world that exists around them. So sad.
