This is very nicely written. You've chosen to focus on grandma's story of her husband and the war and not on a Christmas tale. For family history and heritage, these tales are told from one generation to another and important. Marilyn

What an enviable poem for me! I never experienced a large or close family. So to read a poem which embellishes the scene is wonderful.. I'm glad you have such warm memories.
Thanks for sharing

A lovely story about young love that has survived the ravages of war.
I get the feeling that grandma is lost in her own thoughts while the child is trying to understand about a time when he/she wasn't even around
hugs

The kids of so inquisitive that they are unable to learn anything about the history of their grandfather. I compare the poem to the young, and me sometimes, who ignore what older people are willing to share about the past.

This was so cute and endearing Maria, I liked the approach you took using the children actively in the poem. Children are always full of questions and often do not fully accept or understand the answers. It also showed that grandma has a great level of patience. Very well done, thanks.

Hi Maria Jose, this is a wonderful interpretation of the picture. She's desperately trying to tell her young grandchildren about her love as it were, but they seemed fixed on the old age of their grandparents, and can't comprehend they were once young. What a great poem. I loved it. All the best. Ulla:)))
