Nothing wrong with adding a little cheer here and there. You might also try Franjelica (hazel nut flavor) which goes nice with java. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

That reminds me. I must stock up on things like that -- coffee additives let's call them -- when I am next doing food shopping. Personally my penchant is for brandy, but the idea of additives is excellent and keeps the year turning.

Patty, this is a real delightful poem for an early morning like me. I am glad you like your coffee. As for me, I do not like coffee. I love the smell when it is brewing, but have never been able to develop a taste for it.

I took a long time to get used to coffee. I was twenty-four when I was out with some people from my Bible study on a Wednesday evening. I was paying for refills on my hot chocolate, and everyone else only paid for one cup of coffee - so I switched.
I used to take cream and sugar in it, and then when I met my father-in-law and he saw me adding things, he said, "Are you going to drink coffee or all that other stuff?' So, I started drinking it black and it is only at Christmas that I have anything special in it,

I prefer Kraken spiced Black Rum in my coffee, Patty. But I'm sure Bailey's has a similar soothing and calming effect, LOL.
Aren't those days great when we have absolutely nothing we have to do?

Thank you for the good wishes. Tomorrow will be a flurry of activities; taking the dogs to be groomed, driving to the title company to give them earnest money on the new deal. (Yes, the deal on another house fell apart, but I think I found the right house this time -- I certainly hope so.)
But today is just for me - and my special coffee!

This is a very cute and realistic Christmas poem for this time of the year. We are usually baby sitting each day so we don't get to add things to our drinks. We have to be really alert! Well, I guess you just gave me one reason to NOT be sad about having my grandkids to take care of, but I would gladly trade my special Christmas coffee to spend more time with them.
