Oh Cass, this is so charming. Love every line. Rhyming and content are marvelous. I'm sorry I don't have a sixer for you, but you have my virtual six. Image and wording are just great. Marilyn

Dear Marilyn, Thank you for your review and the five stars. (We'll agree that it's really a six) The artwork is one from Bing images. Nice Huh? The poem was dredged up from the depths of an almost dry well of inspiration. There is nothing left for the time being. I want to develop my writing into longer pieces of prose. Stories and (hopefully) a book . I think this is what She( my Muse) is stuck on. She doesn't really want to commit to larger works. The short activity of a poem (and the payoff) was enough of a "fix" up until now. But, She will comply in the end. She ought to know by now just who She's dealing with. Anyway we'll see won't we? cheers Cass

Hi Cass. I am LOL! The muse will lose to formidable Cass! I think a book CAN be written in short chapters. Those are my favs. The story continues but in short spurts--just enough to complete a chapter before dozing off in bed.

Dear Linda, thank you for your review and the AWESOME SIX STARS. Yes life can get in the way of what we really would like to do. It is so tiresome to be held to duty when we want to kick our heels up and frolic in daisy filled fields. (If you get my meaning ) However what you do write is always worth reading, and I appreciate the sincerity and honesty in your written words.
thanks again for your review, sweetiekins. I love ya heaps cheers Cass

Yes the Muse has her own inimitable ways - being present or absent by turn - great to see this idiosyncracy celebrated here in these stanzas underneath such an appropriate pic----------here's hoping the poetic drought will end soon in torrents of words lol

Dear Zanya, Thank you for your review and the five stars. Your words do give me hope. It's just that it's been a lot longer this time than on other occasions. "Torrents of words" Yes please, and the sooner the better. cheers Cass

Try talking nice to her as she might respond to some honey. This is a lovely piece so she hasn't left you completely. Perhaps she's just not in the yuletide spirit - try having a couple of egg nog and see if that doesn't get her lights blinking. Nicely done and thank you very much for sharing it.

Dear Mystic Angel 7777, thank you for your review and the five stars. Eggnog?? Well that's not a bad idea at all. I'll give it a try at bedtime tonight and see what happens in the morning. Today was housekeeping with my Wednesday Lady, tomorrow I'll awaken with the house all sweet and tidy, my husband poised to cook tea (Thursday is barbecue night) and I'll get stuck into the Eggnog again. You can be assured, my dear, SOMEONE'S lights will be blinking. Thank you again, it's so nice to hear from someone who "speaks the same language" cheers Cass

Well your ink certainly hit the page here with a great rhyming write! A clever write and a joy to read and really does deserve a six, but I'm out of them. Dredged up you say, but I rather think they are well thought out, imaginative and perfect, loved it, best wishes Dolly x

Dear Dolly, thank you for your review and the five stars. Your words are most comforting and I can only hope for a return to writing fairly soon. It's just that it's never been this long before, she usually has a rest, takes herself to the hairdresser, has lunch out, goes to the movies and then comes home full of new ideas and fresh thoughts. Not this time. I'm beginning to wonder if there's a man in it somewhere.!! We'll have to wait and see won't we? cheers Cass

You can?t force it as it will never show it?s face if you do, let it flow into your dreams and keep a pen and paper handy, love Dolly x

A fun poem about your Muse, or lack of.
Sometimes we just have to wait although it seems like forever. One trick that I use is to start copying a story or book, re-typing the words, until my own story starts to develop and I take flight on my own again. I think I saw it in a movie. Works for me, sometimes.

Oh, don't worry, Cass; This happens to the most of us, I'm sure. I know that it happens to me so I just wait until I hear a little poetry hear and there, in my dreams or thoughts. It is then that I run to write down or type what I heard or thought. Finally after about four or five days or maybe even a week or two, I look at my notes and try to put together a poem or two or three. But sure, I have writer's block very much.

Anyway, this poem is terrific and you author notes are just as poetic as the poem is. I loved reading this post but I will be anticipating your return so until the next post, much love...

Dear Tier, Thank you for your review and the five stars . At present I am facing an operation for my husband, which no doubt is part of the reason for my lack of inspiration, but none-the-less I can usually dredge something up when I need to. I must wait until She speaks again and who knows when that will be. Thanks for your encouragement. Words from a fellow writer mean so much more than something (no matter how kind) offered by someone who doesn't share the same feelings. cheers Cass

Your muse may be gone but your talent is not. This is very well done looking for your muse, mine just came home but still seems lazy.lol

Dear Barb, thank you for your review and the five stars. What did you do to entice the wayward one home? Did you promise some delightful treat , such as a new book to put all your writings in? Or a new pen? Who knows? What ever it was , don't upset her or she'll nick off again. Cheers Cass

This poem, My Lost Muse, seems to point to a task master with little respect for the whelp who brings the cheery, flurry of yule fuel to help you fix a present for us. Try honey instead of reprisals.

Very clever. At times ago we referred the moments as writers block. Amazing , much like a cloud that dissipates. There goes my muse! LOL.

Dear Ben, thank you for your review and the five stars. Writers' Block is what it is alright. Ever writer knows it intimately. At present it envelopes me like a cloud of fog, so I have to wait until the sun's warmth dispels it and my Wayward Minx makes her way home again. Cheers Cass
