I think this is a very clever microcosmic response to a problem that could be written about at considerable length. Forced into the 2-4-2 format though, you have gone straight to the heart of the matter and stated it without further embellishment. The only problem with this as far as the contest is concerned is that it relies heavily on the background being made apparent by the photo graphs. Without the pictures it it would not be so telling.

Hmm, very good point on the photographs pantygynt. I never thought of it that way. As usual, I wrote the piece before selecting a pic. I can say there are other entries in this contest I?ve seen where the photo tells the story. Let?s hope the judges aren?t as astute as yourself but I guess they will be. Well, one has to try. Thank you for your honest feedback. ~DD

This is a good entry for the 2-4-2 writing prompt.
The subject is sad and very serious. The pictures shocking. It gets your point across.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.

Just heartbreaking. Your 2-4-2 is a strong visual reminder of the devastation we leave behind, or that we choose to ignore. Wonderful entry!! Blessings...

This is a powerfully written poem and together with the images really impacts the reader. Children are innocent victims of conflicts in so many ways. A horrifying situation. Marilyn

Thank you Marilyn. I appreciate your comments. It was a hard one to compile as I couldn't see the pictures through my tears. So many innocent children suffering on so many levels. ~DD

the choice of art work perfect for your six line poem with the commentary that it is the young who always pay the price for the mistakes of the adults.
Well done and good luck

This poem--plus that photo--should garner many votes in the contest from voters like me who detest such evidence of man's inhumanity to man. The innocent are always the victims.

Thank you RodG, Trying to choose a picture to go with this piece was very difficult because of all the children victims in the world that have and still are suffering. I couldn?t see through the tears. Too many children suffering for too many reasons - all out of the innocent child?s control. I appreciate your review. ~DD
