The statue shown in your accompanying photo could be one of children incarcerated during the Nazi's holocaust against the Jewish races, DD.
Or, it could simply be the artists vision of an amalgamation of poverty-stricken kids from all over the world.
Who knows?
What I DO KNOW is on both occasions the rights of the children in question were overlooked and violated.

Or...it could represent children that are abused, starved, violated, neglected in this world of past, present and no doubt future. You are very astute in your observations though Dean - Yes, the photo is one of incarcerated children during the Nazi holocaust and Yes, there are a gross number of children around the world who have been, are and will always be overlooked and ignored. Life is not far for so many innocent victims. Thank you for your review which I appreciated receiving and reading. ~DD

Oh, this is a very strong poem for such a tiny form - well done! It sickens me to see the wealth and waste around me and then watch the nightly news... Yemen, for example. Your poem brings it vividly to mind...

OMG, I thought America had its' tragedies and losses from homeless people, disabled veterans, and loss souls; but, third world countries seem to be worse. News reports say some countries don't feed their poor like they should. WELL SAID. truly, liberty justice

A very well-written 2-4-2 poem. Their are many children in the world who are starving. They did not ask to be here and we cannot ignore their needs. They are only children who are denied their rights.
