This is absolutely beautiful. Such good advice in a world where people rush around not paying attention to this exquisite planet. Your word painting makes it possible for the reader to envision each phrase. Thank you!! GSmuse

This is a very fine poem offering
a positive counterpoint to the Sad Ballerina
Nicely rhymed with excellent alliteration
as the "s" sound flows down the page
Best of all is the reason to dream
It is always there if we just look
Beautiful art work to match your lovely poem

You are the only one who's commented on the alliteration. For once, it was intentional.
I was so happy to find the artwork from FanArt. I'm not sure if it's the same Phyllis Stewart from our site or not, but I loved the painting.
I appreciate the six stars as well as the stellar review.
Sometimes we are in too big a hurry to dream. It was an actual sunbeam today that reminded me.

    Thanks again

-Very nice image and presentation.
-Beautifully written poem, Rhonda.
-I was pleasantly surprised to see one.
-Good use of rhyme and imagery, but the strength
of the poem is in the message.
-The first line is my favorite.
-You show how important it is
to appreciate what is around you
"and give you a reason to dream."
-Thanks for sharing this, my friend.

Thank you, Pam. It has been a while since I've written poetry, but this one just hit me. I'm at a teacher's conference in Houston, and was wandering about trying to get to my next session, when I happened to step into a sunbeam that had penetrated into the convention center. I stopped and just stood there a while, and thought of the poem.

I actually started to make it one of those super short poems with just the first line, but I'm way to wordy for that. haha.

Thank you for the beautiful stars, and for reviewing the poem.

You are very welcome and deserving of the stars and review, Rhonda. Thanks for sharing how the idea came to you--at a teacher's conference, but then there was the sun beam.

It couldn't have come at a better time. I was freezing from being in a meeting where it was so cold, then was dashing back to the hotel on a sky bridge. It was then I stepped into the sunbeam. I had to stop and soak in the warmth and the reminder.

Sounds like it was good timing. Many buildings are so cold these days, you have to wear coats inside! The sunbeam was a nice reminder and resulted in a very good poem, too, Rhonda.

And I was freezing, too. It was only the skywalk between the two buildings where I could thaw out.

You presented a very well written poem that tells a story of hope if only one becomes aware of Nature's promises. In these days of turmoil, this work brings serenity. Fine work. You selected a beautiful picture to accompany your words.

Blessings,
Brigitte

It poem is so lovely in construction and thought. I agree with your sentiments. In this hustle and bustle world which we live, we should take to enjoy life -- to stand in a sunbeam or watch swans. These are things that we often for granted.

We should heed your advice. Thank you for it.

Thank you so much. I'm the first one guilty of rushing around trying to get things done, and forgetting why I am doing them in the first place.

I appreciate the review and comments,

G'day Padna.

Well, it's so good to see you writing a poem. It's been a long time for both of us.

And what a lovely, positive piece it is. Wonderful rhyming and flow and very uplifting.

Nature will indeed lift our spirits if we take time to observe here.

Great job

Cheers Fez

    Hey Padna!!

Yes, it has been a long time since either of us has done what brought us together in the beginning! First we started with our tag team poetry, then prose. Now you're a big boy writer all on your own!!

Thanks for the beautiful sixer! I'll probably take a novel break for a bit. Got too much going on. You, however, keep cranking them out, and they are awesome!

Here's where the poetic art really comes into its own as it transports the reader beyond the humdrum of daily living 'Take time to stand in a sunbeam'- if only we would !!

A beautiful poem, Rhonda--and it's so true--so many times we're in a hurry to get absolutely nowhere--I think we get caught up in light speed that we forget to enjoy the journey
